Un fen\u00f3meno muy poco frecuente esta ocurriendo actualmente en nuestro continente debido a la intensa actividad en el desierto de\u00a0Sahara<\/strong>. Tras recorrer una distancia de m\u00e1s de 7,500 kil\u00f3metros, una nube de polvo y arena proveniente del desierto esta llegando\u00a0a las costas del Mar Caribe y pa\u00edses Centroamericanos e incluso\u00a0podr\u00eda extenderse hasta la costa este de Texas en EEUU.<\/p>\n

La nube esta compuesta b\u00e1sicamente por arena\u00a0microsc\u00f3pica que fue llevada por todo el\u00a0Oc\u00e9ano\u00a0Atlantico por los vientos que actualmente se encuentran muy acelerados. Ante la llegada del polvo, se ha han hecho algunas advertencias de salud ya que pueden traer algunas consecuencias, sobretodo para personas con afecciones en las v\u00edas respiratorias, como aquellas con asma. Tambi\u00e9n se recomend\u00f3 usar mascarillas a aquellas personas con enfermedades respiratorias cr\u00f3nicas, adultos mayores,\u00a0as\u00ed\u00a0como mujeres embarazadas y ni\u00f1os.<\/p>\n

Este fen\u00f3meno es sumamente inusual, ya que generalmente la arena levantada por tormentas termina cayendo sobre el mar mucho antes de acercarse al continente Americano;\u00a0sin embargo\u00a0no todas las consecuencias son negativas, seg\u00fan un estudio publicado por la NASA en 2015, entre los elementos tra\u00eddos por el viento se encuentra una alta cantidad de f\u00f3sforo, que es considerado como un nutriente esencial para el crecimiento de la selva amaz\u00f3nica.<\/p>\n
