En octubre, informamos que los cient\u00edficos planeaban crear una versi\u00f3n actualizada del\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Mensaje de Arecibo<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0, un mensaje de radio enviado al espacio hace 44 a\u00f1os para llamar la atenci\u00f3n de los extraterrestres, y quer\u00edan la ayuda del p\u00fablico para decidir cu\u00e1l deber\u00eda ser el nuevo mensaje.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ahora que has tenido un par de semanas para pensar en lo que le dir\u00edas a los alien\u00edgenas si tuvieras la oportunidad, aqu\u00ed es c\u00f3mo puedes hacer que tu voz sea escuchada.<\/span><\/p>\n

Un Verdadero Desaf\u00edo<\/span><\/p>\n

El viernes, el Observatorio de Arecibo (AO) public\u00f3 detalles sobre el desaf\u00edo global del Nuevo Mensaje de Arecibo en su\u00a0<\/span>sitio web<\/span>\u00a0.<\/span><\/p>\n

De acuerdo con el sitio, equipos de 10 estudiantes desde jard\u00edn de infantes hasta la universidad pueden participar en el desaf\u00edo, pero hacerlo no ser\u00e1 tan simple como enviar por correo electr\u00f3nico un mensaje propuesto a la AO.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Los estudiantes necesitar\u00e1n romper mensajes codificados, resolver acertijos y m\u00e1s en varios puntos a lo largo del a\u00f1o para desbloquear detalles sobre el desaf\u00edo, incluidas las instrucciones para registrar su equipo y las especificaciones para elaborar su mensaje.<\/span><\/p>\n

Estos mini desaf\u00edos requerir\u00e1n que cada equipo demuestre conocimiento de la AO, el m\u00e9todo cient\u00edfico, las ciencias del espacio y otros temas relacionados con la AO.<\/span><\/p>\n

Prepararse<\/span><\/p>\n

El AO lanzar\u00e1 la primera parte del desaf\u00edo el 16 de diciembre, por lo que los estudiantes tienen poco menos de un mes para formar sus equipos y prepararse para poner su conocimiento del espacio a prueba.<\/span><\/p>\n

El desaf\u00edo continuar\u00e1 durante aproximadamente nueve meses, y el AO declarar\u00e1 a un equipo ganador durante un evento de una semana en octubre de 2019 que celebra el 56 aniversario del observatorio.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Tenemos bastantes sorpresas para los participantes y estaremos compartiendo m\u00e1s detalles a medida que avance la competencia”, dijo el director de AO, Francisco Cordova, en un\u00a0<\/span>comunicado de prensa<\/span>\u00a0.\u00a0“No podemos esperar a ver qu\u00e9 piensan nuestros j\u00f3venes de todo el mundo”.<\/span><\/p>\n
