Se trata de la aplicaci\u00f3n pr\u00e1ctica de BIOGO, un proyecto europeo que pretende crear un proceso totalmente integrado y completo para la producci\u00f3n de biocarburantes \u201crespetuosos con el medio ambiente\u201d a partir de residuos y nuevos nanocatalizadores.<\/p>\n<p>La materia prima proviene directamente de los bosques, como explica el profesor Gunther Kolb del Fraunhofer IMM, coordinador del proyecto de la UE.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Los desechos de celulosa y las corteza de los \u00e1rboles est\u00e1n disponibles en grandes cantidades en toda Europa, pero hasta ahora han sido ignorados como recurso. Esto los convierte en una materia prima ideal, ya que no necesitan ser cultivados espec\u00edficamente y, por lo tanto, no competir\u00e1n con la producci\u00f3n de alimentos.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>La producci\u00f3n de biocombustibles a partir de residuos forestales se considera una opci\u00f3n tecnol\u00f3gica interesante porque es \u201cneutra\u201d desde el punto de vista de las emisiones y, a diferencia del petr\u00f3leo, no necesita infraestructura de transporte desde la fuente hasta las refiner\u00edas y luego hasta las estaciones de servicio.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cUn componente importante del concepto BIOGO es la producci\u00f3n descentralizada\u201d, dice Kolb. \u201cPara lograr este objetivo, hemos desarrollado unidades de producci\u00f3n m\u00f3viles que pueden alojarse en contenedores e instalarse donde se necesiten.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>En un espacio muy reducido (12 x 3 x 3 metros), la planta prototipo integra todos los pasos de procedimiento y procesado para la obtenci\u00f3n de biocarburantes a partir de residuos forestales.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_67852\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-67852 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/ecoinventos.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/contenedor-produce-biocombustibles.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"662\" height=\"1600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ecoinventos.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/contenedor-produce-biocombustibles.jpg 662w, https:\/\/ecoinventos.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/contenedor-produce-biocombustibles-124x300.jpg 124w, https:\/\/ecoinventos.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/contenedor-produce-biocombustibles-257x620.jpg 257w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 662px) 100vw, 662px\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">\u00a9 Tobias Hang\/Fraunhofer IMM<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>La primera fase, desarrollada por la empresa italiana Spike Renewables, prev\u00e9 la transformaci\u00f3n de los residuos de celulosa en un aceite de pir\u00f3lisis oscuro y viscoso. Este puede ser procesado posteriormente en la \u201cplanta m\u00f3vil\u201d gracias a los micro-reactores inventados por Fraunhofer, peque\u00f1as c\u00e1maras de reacci\u00f3n que lo convierten en gas de s\u00edntesis mediante la adici\u00f3n de calor, aire y vapor. El gas de s\u00edntesis se utiliza para producir metanol en una segunda fase. Y la extracci\u00f3n de ox\u00edgeno del alcohol produce gasolina sint\u00e9tica.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cEl reto \u2013 a\u00f1ade el investigador alem\u00e1n \u2013 era optimizar el proceso para obtener un combustible qu\u00edmicamente indistinguible de la gasolina est\u00e1ndar\u201d, a la vez que se hac\u00eda el proceso de producci\u00f3n lo m\u00e1s respetuoso posible con el medio ambiente y m\u00e1s eficiente en el uso de los recursos.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>En el proyecto BIOGO, los cient\u00edficos de Teer Coatings desempe\u00f1aron un papel clave al inventar un m\u00e9todo para aplicar peque\u00f1as part\u00edculas de sustancias catal\u00edticamente activas a las superficies. Esto produce nanocatalizadores de alto rendimiento que ahorran recursos.
