No es una cuesti\u00f3n menor: los residentes pierden el acceso a servicios importantes como la entrega de paquetes, atenci\u00f3n m\u00e9dica y asistencia en casos de desastre, as\u00ed como la posibilidad de registrarse para votar o sacarse el carnet de conducir. Las ciudades tambi\u00e9n tienen problemas para planificar nuevas infraestructuras, como escuelas, tuber\u00edas de agua y l\u00edneas el\u00e9ctricas. El<span>\u00a0<\/span>MIT Media Lab y Facebook proponen una nueva forma<span>\u00a0<\/span>de dar direcci\u00f3n a quienes no la tienen con el aprendizaje autom\u00e1tico.<\/span><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"es\" xml:lang=\"es\">Los investigadores, seg\u00fan<span>\u00a0<\/span>cuenta el<span>\u00a0<\/span><em>MIT Technology Review<\/em>,<span>\u00a0<\/span>establecieron dos equipos: un primero entren\u00f3 un algoritmo de aprendizaje profundo para extraer los p\u00edxeles de la carretera de las im\u00e1genes de sat\u00e9lite. Otro algoritmo agrup\u00f3 estos p\u00edxeles y los uni\u00f3 juntos en una red de carreteras. El sistema analiz\u00f3 la densidad y la forma de las carreteras para segmentar la red en diferentes comunidades.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"es\" xml:lang=\"es\">El grupo m\u00e1s denso fue etiquetado como el centro de la ciudad. Las regiones alrededor del centro de la ciudad se dividieron en cuadrantes norte, sur, este y oeste, y las calles se numeraron y se pusieron letras seg\u00fan su orientaci\u00f3n y distancia desde el centro.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"es\" xml:lang=\"es\">\u00bfQu\u00e9 precisi\u00f3n tienen las m\u00e1quinas?<span>\u00a0<\/span>Cuando compararon sus resultados finales con una muestra aleatoria de regiones no mapeadas cuyas calles hab\u00edan sido etiquetadas manualmente, su enfoque abord\u00f3 con \u00e9xito m\u00e1s del 80% de las \u00e1reas pobladas. \u00bfMucho? \u00bfPoco? Este dato mejora la cobertura de Google Maps o OpenStreetMaps, seg\u00fan<span>\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.technologyreview.com\/s\/612492\/four-billion-people-lack-an-address-machine-learning-could-change-that\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">el MIT<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"es\" xml:lang=\"es\">Hay otras v\u00edas de automatizar la creaci\u00f3n de direcciones: La<span>\u00a0<\/span><em>startup<\/em>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/what3words.com\/es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">what3words<\/a><span>\u00a0<\/span>genera una combinaci\u00f3n \u00fanica de tres palabras para cada cuadrado de tres por tres metros en una cuadr\u00edcula global.
