{"id":12966,"date":"2018-12-04T09:22:11","date_gmt":"2018-12-04T15:22:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/?p=12966"},"modified":"2018-12-04T09:22:11","modified_gmt":"2018-12-04T15:22:11","slug":"luz-verde-a-un-nuevo-medicamento-que-combate-el-cancer-de-un-modo-totalmente-distinto","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/salud\/luz-verde-a-un-nuevo-medicamento-que-combate-el-cancer-de-un-modo-totalmente-distinto\/","title":{"rendered":"Luz verde a un nuevo medicamento que combate el c\u00e1ncer de un modo totalmente distinto"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span>La nueva terapia no depende de la localizaci\u00f3n del tumor, sino que puede servir para tratar cualquier c\u00e1ncer que comparta una determinada mutaci\u00f3n gen\u00e9tica.<\/span><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>La autoridad que se encarga de dar el visto bueno a los productos sanitarios antes de que salgan a la venta en los Estados Unidos, la Administraci\u00f3n de Alimentos y Medicamentos (FDA, por sus siglas en ingl\u00e9s),<span>\u00a0<\/span>ha aprobado un nuevo medicamento<span>\u00a0<\/span>que aprovecha una mutaci\u00f3n presente en varios tipos de c\u00e1ncer para combatirlos, en lugar de basarse, como es habitual, en su localizaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>El medicamento se llama Vitrakvi y es el segundo de este tipo (denominado larotrectinib) que recibe luz verde por parte del regulador. Adem\u00e1s, se ha aprobado al mismo tiempo para su uso en adultos y ni\u00f1os, algo poco habitual en las medicinas oncol\u00f3gicas, que suelen tardar m\u00e1s en considerarse adecuadas para los menores.<\/p>\n<p>No obstante, se trata de un medicamento indicado para pacientes cuyo c\u00e1ncer se ha extendido o que podr\u00edan sufrir complicaciones graves por someterse a cirug\u00eda y carecen de alternativas satisfactorias.<\/p>\n<p>Este medicamento forma parte de los prometedores avances en terapia dirigida, cuyo enfoque se basa en combatir los tumores que comparten un determinado biomarcador, una misma firma gen\u00e9tica, independientemente de en qu\u00e9 parte del cuerpo se han originado.<\/p>\n<div id=\"smartIntxt\" data-smartplay-instance-id=\"0\">El coste de esta nueva terapia es elevado. La empresa fabricante, Loxo Oncology, y su socia Bayer han anunciado que el precio del suministro de pastillas para 30 d\u00edas ser\u00e1 de 32.800 d\u00f3lares (cerca de 29.000 euros) en el caso de los adultos, y el coste de la f\u00f3rmula l\u00edquida para ni\u00f1os, aunque se determinar\u00e1 en base a la superficie afectada por el c\u00e1ncer, partir\u00e1 de los 11.000 d\u00f3lares al mes (m\u00e1s de 9.600 euros).<\/div>\n<p>El mayor inconveniente, no obstante, es que para determinar si el tumor es del tipo que se puede tratar con esta medicina hace falta un estudio gen\u00e9tico que no siempre se practica.<\/p>\n<p>Teniendo en cuenta que solo se produce la mutaci\u00f3n que hace posible la terapia en un 1 % de los casos para<span>\u00a0<\/span>la mayor\u00eda de tumores s\u00f3lidos, lo que se traducir\u00eda en unos 2.000 o 3.000 pacientes cada a\u00f1o en los Estados Unidos, no ser\u00e1 sencillo que la prueba empiece a practicarse a todos los que potencialmente podr\u00edan beneficiarse.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fuente: Tecnoxplora<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>La nueva terapia no depende de la localizaci\u00f3n del tumor, sino que puede servir para tratar cualquier c\u00e1ncer que comparta una determinada mutaci\u00f3n gen\u00e9tica.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":12967,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[370],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-12966","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-salud"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.7 -
