Sin embargo, se necesita m\u00e1s investigaci\u00f3n para refinar la capacidad de identificar de la IA y comparar sus resultados con otros enfoques de diagn\u00f3stico.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Las caracter\u00edsticas faciales distintivas sintom\u00e1ticas de muchos s\u00edndromes gen\u00e9ticos pueden ayudar a los m\u00e9dicos en sus diagn\u00f3sticos. No obstante, debido a la gran cantidad de s\u00edndromes existentes hace que la identificaci\u00f3n correcta sea un desaf\u00edo.<span>\u00a0<\/span><strong>El uso de la IA podr\u00eda ayudar en el diagn\u00f3stico de los s\u00edndromes gen\u00e9ticos<\/strong>, pero estudios anteriores sobre esta posibilidad han usado en su mayor\u00eda peque\u00f1as cantidades de datos de entrenamiento y pod\u00eda reconocer solo unos pocos s\u00edndromes.<\/p>\n<p>Yaron Gurovich y sus colegas de la empresa<span>\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fdna.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">FDNA<span>\u00a0<\/span><\/a>entrenaron un algoritmo de aprendizaje profundo utilizando m\u00e1s de 17.000 im\u00e1genes faciales de pacientes cuyos diagn\u00f3sticos abarcaban cientos de s\u00edndromes gen\u00e9ticos distintos.<\/p>\n<p>Los autores evaluaron el desempe\u00f1o de la IA con dos conjuntos de pruebas independientes, cada uno con im\u00e1genes faciales de cientos de pacientes que hab\u00edan sido analizados previamente por expertos cl\u00ednicos.<span>\u00a0<\/span><strong>Para cada imagen de prueba, la IA propuso una lista ordenada de s\u00edndromes potenciales<\/strong>. Con ambas series, la IA ofreci\u00f3 con \u00e9xito el s\u00edndrome correcto entre sus 10 principales sugerencias en aproximadamente el 90% de las veces, y super\u00f3 a los expertos cl\u00ednicos en tres estudios separados.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"roba-intercalado sin-fondo layer_inpage\">\n<div id=\"google_ads_iframe_\/4900\/vocento.abc\/salud_5__container__\"><iframe width=\"1\" height=\"1\" id=\"google_ads_iframe_\/4900\/vocento.abc\/salud_5\" title=\"3rd party ad content\" name=\"google_ads_iframe_\/4900\/vocento.abc\/salud_5\" scrolling=\"no\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" frameborder=\"0\" srcdoc=\"\" data-google-container-id=\"a\" data-load-complete=\"true\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/aside>\n<figure class=\"sumario\"><span class=\"texto-sumario\">La mayor capacidad para describir el fenotipo de una manera estandarizada abre la puerta a futuras investigaciones y aplicaciones y a la identificaci\u00f3n de nuevos s\u00edndromes gen\u00e9ticos<\/span><\/figure>\n<p>\u00ab<strong>Este es un avance muy esperado en el campo de la gen\u00e9tica m\u00e9dica<\/strong>\u00bb, se\u00f1ala. Karen Gripp, de FDNA y coautora del art\u00edculo. \u00abCon este estudio, hemos demostrado que agregar un marco de an\u00e1lisis facial automatizado, como DeepGestalt, a la pr\u00e1ctica cl\u00ednica puede ayudar a lograr un diagn\u00f3stico y tratamiento m\u00e1s tempranos y, adem\u00e1s, facilitar una mejor calidad de vida\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>Gurovich, primer autor del art\u00edculo, explica: \u00abLa mayor capacidad para describir el fenotipo de una manera estandarizada abre la puerta a futuras investigaciones y aplicaciones y a la identificaci\u00f3n de nuevos s\u00edndromes gen\u00e9ticos. Demuestra c\u00f3mo se pueden aplicar con \u00e9xito los algoritmos de \u00faltima generaci\u00f3n, como el aprendizaje profundo, en un campo dif\u00edcil donde los datos disponibles son peque\u00f1os, no est\u00e1n equilibrados en t\u00e9rminos de pacientes disponibles por condici\u00f3n, y donde existe la necesidad de respaldar una gran cantidad de condiciones\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>Y a pesar de este estudio utiliz\u00f3 series de pruebas relativamente peque\u00f1as y no implic\u00f3 comparaciones directas con otros m\u00e9todos de identificaci\u00f3n existentes o expertos humanos, estos resultados sugieren que la IA podr\u00eda ayudar a la priorizaci\u00f3n y el diagn\u00f3stico de los s\u00edndromes gen\u00e9ticos raros en la cl\u00ednica.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab<strong>La inteligencia artificial junto con la secuenciaci\u00f3n del genoma, va camino de convertirse en una herramienta b\u00e1sica en la medicina de precisi\u00f3n<\/strong>\u00bb, se\u00f1ala Dekel Gelbman, de CEO. \u00abDurante a\u00f1os nos hemos basado \u00fanicamente en la capacidad de los profesionales m\u00e9dicos para identificar enfermedades gen\u00e9ticamente relacionadas.
