{"id":14141,"date":"2019-02-21T09:41:54","date_gmt":"2019-02-21T15:41:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/?p=14141"},"modified":"2019-02-21T09:41:54","modified_gmt":"2019-02-21T15:41:54","slug":"la-inteligencia-artificial-identifica-63-nuevos-genes-asociados-al-cancer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/salud\/la-inteligencia-artificial-identifica-63-nuevos-genes-asociados-al-cancer\/","title":{"rendered":"La inteligencia artificial identifica 63 nuevos genes asociados al c\u00e1ncer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"has-drop-cap\">Cient\u00edficos del Barcelona Supercomputing Center-Centro Nacional de Supercomputaci\u00f3n (BSC) han desarrollado un nuevo m\u00e9todo basado en inteligencia artificial (IA) que ha permitido identificar 63 nuevos genes relacionados con el c\u00e1ncer, de los que 36 contribuyen al crecimiento celular irregular.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>El m\u00e9todo, que publica la revista \u2018Nature Communications\u2019 y que recrea las interacciones biol\u00f3gicas dentro de las c\u00e9lulas, ha sido biol\u00f3gicamente probado en l\u00edneas celulares de c\u00e1ncer de mama, pr\u00f3stata, pulm\u00f3n y colon, as\u00ed como en an\u00e1lisis retrospectivos de supervivencia de miles de pacientes.<\/p>\n<p>La investigaci\u00f3n la ha liderado Natasa Przulj, que ha utilizado t\u00e9cnicas de aprendizaje autom\u00e1tico (machine learning) para relacionar grandes cantidades de datos y recrearlos en un prototipo computacional.<\/p>\n<p>Los cient\u00edficos del BSC han aplicado este m\u00e9todo para reconstruir c\u00e9lulas de cuatro de los tipos m\u00e1s comunes de c\u00e1ncer (mama, pr\u00f3stata, pulm\u00f3n y colon) y en todos ellos ha demostrado ser \u00fatil para localizar nuevos genes relacionados con estas enfermedades.<\/p>\n<p>El m\u00e9todo ha se\u00f1alado 63 genes y un proceso de validaci\u00f3n biol\u00f3gica ha confirmado que al menos 36 de ellos contribuyen al crecimiento irregular de las c\u00e9lulas.<\/p>\n<p>Seg\u00fan ha explicado Przulj, la validaci\u00f3n se ha llevado a cabo mediante experimentos de desactivaci\u00f3n de genes seguidos de pruebas de viabilidad celular y an\u00e1lisis de datos de supervivencia del paciente.<br \/>\nNiveles de supervivencia al c\u00e1ncer<\/p>\n<p>La experimentaci\u00f3n revel\u00f3, por ejemplo, que las pacientes con c\u00e1ncer de mama con alta expresi\u00f3n de MRPL3, una prote\u00edna ribosomal mitocondrial que no estaba relacionada con el c\u00e1ncer previamente, tienen una menor supervivencia.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEste es un ejemplo de c\u00f3mo se puede usar el nuevo m\u00e9todo para descubrir nuevos genes biomarcadores, que pueden ser relevantes en la estratificaci\u00f3n y predicci\u00f3n de la supervivencia en pacientes con c\u00e1ncer\u201d, ha se\u00f1alado Natasa Przulj, que se acaba de incorporar al BSC como l\u00edder del grupo de Biolog\u00eda Computacional Integrativa de Redes.<\/p>\n<p>Przulj ha destacado que este nuevo m\u00e9todo para analizar c\u00e9lulas \u201cpermite identificar genes alterados en el c\u00e1ncer que no aparecen como alterados en ning\u00fan otro tipo de datos, pone de manifiesto la importancia de los enfoques integrativos para analizar datos biol\u00f3gicos y allana el camino hacia an\u00e1lisis integrativos comparativos de todas las c\u00e9lulas\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Las posibles aplicaciones de este nuevo m\u00e9todo van desde el tratamiento de otras enfermedades hasta el envejecimiento, con el objetivo final de descubrir los principios intr\u00ednsecos de la organizaci\u00f3n interna de la vida.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fuente: EFE<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Cient\u00edficos del Barcelona Supercomputing Center-Centro Nacional de Supercomputaci\u00f3n (BSC) han desarrollado un nuevo m\u00e9todo basado en inteligencia artificial (IA) que ha permitido identificar 63 nuevos genes relacionados con el c\u00e1ncer, de los que 36 contribuyen al crecimiento celular irregular.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":14142,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[370],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-14141","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-salud"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.7 -
