Aqu\u00ed, el v\u00eddeo<span>\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=qvnV5wrxSC8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=qvnV5wrxSC8 (abre en una nueva pesta\u00f1a)\">https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=qvnV5wrxSC8<\/a><\/p>\n<p>En colaboraci\u00f3n con Wenyu Huang, profesor asociado en el Departamento de Qu\u00edmica de la Universidad Estatal de Iowa y cient\u00edfico en el Laboratorio Ames, el equipo examin\u00f3 nanopart\u00edculas hechas de una aleaci\u00f3n de platino y esta\u00f1o. Estos iNPs \u00fanicos tienen aplicaciones en la conversi\u00f3n de combustible con mayor eficiencia energ\u00e9tica y la producci\u00f3n de biocombustibles, y son uno de los enfoques del grupo de investigaci\u00f3n de Huang.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEn la formaci\u00f3n de estos materiales, faltaba una gran cantidad de informaci\u00f3n en el medio que nos resulta \u00fatil para optimizar las propiedades catal\u00edticas\u201d, dijo Huang.<\/p>\n<p>Al rastrear el movimiento de \u00e1tomos de metal de platino y esta\u00f1o durante la formaci\u00f3n de iNPs utilizando microscop\u00eda avanzada a alta temperatura, se descubrieron fases intermedias con su propio conjunto \u00fanico de propiedades catal\u00edticas.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLa s\u00edntesis de material convencional se centra en el principio y el final de una reacci\u00f3n, sin comprender mucho la v\u00eda. La observaci\u00f3n a nivel at\u00f3mico del proceso de aleaci\u00f3n llev\u00f3 al descubrimiento de la ruta de reacci\u00f3n\u201d, dijo en un comunicado Lin Zhou, un cient\u00edfico de la Divisi\u00f3n de Ciencias de los Materiales e Ingenier\u00eda en Ames.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUna vez que supi\u00e9ramos los estados intermedios en el medio, podr\u00edamos controlar la reacci\u00f3n para \u2018parar\u2019 en ese momento.
