IBM da primer paso"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"letter-capitular\">El ingeniero de IBM,<span>\u00a0<\/span><strong>Noam Slonim<\/strong>,<span>\u00a0<\/span><strong>responsable del dise\u00f1o de Project Debater<span>\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>(una inteligencia artificial capaz de debatir temas complejos con seres humanos), mostr\u00f3 hoy los avances de este proyecto, en Ginebra, y argument\u00f3 que en el futuro podr\u00eda ser muy \u00fatil para empresas y gobiernos.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Project Debater, que el pasado mes de febrero compiti\u00f3 p\u00fablicamente en San Francisco con el campe\u00f3n mundial de debate (Harish Natarajan, quien result\u00f3 ganador), fue desarrollado tras m\u00e1s de siete a\u00f1os de trabajo por un centro de investigaci\u00f3n en Tel Aviv, dirigido por Slonim.<\/p>\n<p>En el futuro, un Project Debater evolucionado<span>\u00a0<\/span><strong>&#8220;puede ayudar a los gobiernos a recoger las opiniones de los ciudadanos al respecto de una pol\u00edtica que se est\u00e9 considerando&#8221;<\/strong>, entre otras &#8220;interesantes implicaciones a\u00fan por explorar&#8221;, se\u00f1al\u00f3 hoy el ingeniero de IBM en el Centro Internacional de Conferencias de Ginebra.<\/p>\n<p>El recinto es escenario esta semana de una cumbre patrocinada por la Uni\u00f3n Internacional de Telecomunicaciones que debate el futuro de la inteligencia artificial bajo el lema &#8220;AI for good&#8221; (frase con doble sentido en ingl\u00e9s, que puede significar &#8220;IA para siempre&#8221; o &#8220;IA beneficiosa&#8221;).<\/p>\n<p>En la breve presentaci\u00f3n de hoy,<span>\u00a0<\/span><strong>la inteligencia artificial de IBM mostr\u00f3 su capacidad de debate defendiendo que las redes sociales son buenas para el ser humano<\/strong>, utilizando argumentos que previamente le hab\u00edan enviado voluntarios en centros educativos de Italia, Francia, Canad\u00e1 y otros pa\u00edses.<\/p>\n<p>Las redes sociales &#8220;rompen las barreras entre culturas y permiten que la gente est\u00e1 mejor informada&#8221;, adem\u00e1s de &#8220;ayudar a las personas solitarias a encontrar amigos con intereses comunes&#8221;, subray\u00f3 la inteligencia artificial, con voz femenina generada por ordenador.<\/p>\n<p>En su intervenci\u00f3n en Ginebra Project Debater fue una simple voz incorp\u00f3rea, aunque en el evento ocurrido hace tres meses en San Francisco se la present\u00f3 con forma de monolito negro, que recordaba al famoso objeto de la pel\u00edcula &#8220;2001, una odisea en el espacio&#8221; de Stanley Kubrick.<\/p>\n<p>En aquella ocasi\u00f3n el debate vers\u00f3 sobre la necesidad de que los gobiernos financien educaci\u00f3n para ni\u00f1os en edad preescolar, algo que defendi\u00f3 Project Debater pero que su oponente humano rechaz\u00f3, ganando con argumentos como el de que la escuela es un ambiente demasiado competitivo para ni\u00f1os de entre tres y cuatro a\u00f1os.<\/p>\n<p>Slonim explic\u00f3 hoy que su inteligencia artificial utiliza varias herramientas para debatir temas que nunca antes ha tratado, y est\u00e1 entrenado para escoger frases que est\u00e9n relacionadas con el t\u00f3pico a discutir, que polemicen contra el oponente y que vayan en favor de la postura que se le ha asignado.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Entre las herramientas que utiliza se encuentran una base de datos con 10,000 millones de frases<\/strong><span>\u00a0<\/span>y un conocimiento de m\u00faltiples &#8220;trucos&#8221; en los debates: por ejemplo, que cuando se debate si prohibir algo o no en una sociedad (drogas, alcohol, etc) un frecuente argumento en su contra es el riesgo de un mercado negro.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Pero no siempre funciona, por ejemplo ante el debate de si prohibir que las madres den de mamar a sus beb\u00e9s en p\u00fablico, obviamente no hay riesgo de mercado negro&#8221;, brome\u00f3 el ingeniero, quien se\u00f1al\u00f3 que &#8220;el sistema debe desarrollar un buen entendimiento del lenguaje para que todo tenga sentido&#8221;.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Con Project Debater IBM contin\u00faa una larga tradici\u00f3n de crear avances tecnol\u00f3gicos<\/strong><span>\u00a0<\/span>capaces de desafiar al intelecto humano, con \u00e9xitos especialmente conocidos como el ordenador Deep Blue, que en los a\u00f1os 90 gan\u00f3 al campe\u00f3n mundial de ajedrez Gary Kasparov.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>En un debate, sin embargo, la situaci\u00f3n es m\u00e1s compleja, porque no siempre es obvio medir qui\u00e9n ha ganado&#8221;, subray\u00f3 el ingeniero de IBM.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Deep Blue, por otro lado, era un software programado, no una inteligencia artificial como las que actualmente desarrollan m\u00faltiples firmas tecnol\u00f3gicas, diferentes en el hecho de que pueden aprender por s\u00ed solas cosas que no les han &#8220;ense\u00f1ado&#8221;
