En muy pocos a\u00f1os veremos con cierta iron\u00eda, y tal vez nostalgia, la forma como hoy hacemos nuestras transacciones financieras; ser\u00e1 com\u00fan escuchar: \u201c\u00bfte acuerdas cuando \u2026?, pero si no fue hace tanto tiempo\u201d.<\/span><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span>Hasta hoy, no hay datos oficiales sobre el tama\u00f1o del mercado ya que todav\u00eda no entra en vigor la regulaci\u00f3n en M\u00e9xico, pero diversos organismos, como Fintech M\u00e9xico, que agrupa a las empresas de este sector, estima que para 2022 se realizar\u00e1n transacciones con un valor superior a los 69 mil millones de pesos.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Y a todo esto, \u00bfqu\u00e9 es fintech?. Para responder esta pregunta, me gusta formular la pregunta opuesta: \u00bfqu\u00e9 no es? Fintech no son finanzas basadas en tecnolog\u00eda, si esto fuera as\u00ed, entonces el mundo fintech existir\u00eda desde hace m\u00e1s de un siglo. Por desgracia, en el nombre lleva la penitencia, ya que a eso remite.<\/p>\n<p>Fintech es un<span>\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com.mx\/modelos-de-negocios-surgidos-a-partir-de-fintech\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">fen\u00f3meno mucho m\u00e1s profundo<\/a>, que lleva aparejadas consecuencias verdaderamente trascendentes en nuestra vida diaria. Es hacer que la tecnolog\u00eda maximice la eficiencia de todos los procesos financieros de tal forma que se democratice el acceso a recursos econ\u00f3micos y a la obtenci\u00f3n de rendimientos m\u00e1s justos.<\/p>\n<p>Estoy convencido de que los cambios solamente tendr\u00e1n sentido si se logra cambiar el hecho de que actualmente el 60% de la poblaci\u00f3n econ\u00f3micamente activa de M\u00e9xico no tiene, ni siquiera, una cuenta bancaria. Que el 85% de las Mipymes no pueden crecer porque no son sujetos de cr\u00e9dito. O que una persona que ha trabajado toda su vida para juntar algo de dinero, sea ofendida recibiendo tasas de inter\u00e9s nominales \u2013que despu\u00e9s de todos los cargos y respectivos descuentos\u2013 que a veces no llegan al 3% anual.\u00a0 Y como esto, podr\u00eda escribir sin parar sabiendo que quien me honra con su lectura coincidir\u00e1 conmigo.<\/p>\n<p>Los rubros en los que los nuevos participantes fintech est\u00e1n trabajando con m\u00e1s ah\u00ednco son: pr\u00e9stamos personales y empresariales, medios electr\u00f3nicos de pago, calificaci\u00f3n de cr\u00e9dito y riesgo, seguros, inversiones de capital, transferencias de dinero y los muy famosos activos virtuales o criptomonedas.<\/p>\n<p>Como contexto, y para poder dar un poco de dimensi\u00f3n a este fascinante mundo, comparto con ustedes un dato: de acuerdo con CB Insights, durante 2017 fondos de capital de riesgo, mejor conocidos como Venture Capital, invirtieron en empresas fintech a nivel mundial 19 mil millones de d\u00f3lares. Un a\u00f1o despu\u00e9s en 2018, esta inversi\u00f3n lleg\u00f3 a 41 mil millones, m\u00e1s del doble. Sin lugar a duda, algo est\u00e1n viendo para decidirse a invertir esta gigantesca cantidad de recursos en un sector relativamente nuevo.<\/p>\n<p>La vida financiera de todos nosotros va a cambiar en muy poco tiempo, y lo har\u00e1 de forma radical. Estoy convencido de que, con la correcta supervisi\u00f3n por parte de las autoridades locales e internacionales, este cambio ser\u00e1 en beneficio de la inclusi\u00f3n financiera.
