La compa\u00f1\u00eda ha anunciado que quiere deshacerse de las antigua contrase\u00f1a o m\u00e9todos de autentificaci\u00f3n mediante PIN y\u00a0empezar a utilizar selfies para aprobar las compras en l\u00ednea, de forma que lanzar\u00e1 una nueva tecnolog\u00eda que permitir\u00e1 a los usuarios autorizar compras online a trav\u00e9s de la huella \u00fanica de su cara, una tecnolog\u00eda que estar\u00e1 disponible en algunos de los grandes bancos en\u00a0EE.UU., Canad\u00e1, el Reino Unido y algunos pa\u00edses de Europa en los pr\u00f3ximos meses.<\/p>\n
La idea de MasterCard es que se estandarice el uso del reconocimiento facial como m\u00e9todo de autenticaci\u00f3n de pagos en los pr\u00f3ximos cinco a\u00f1os, pues seg\u00fan el presidente de soluciones de seguridad empresarial en MasterCard, Ajay Bhalla, el uso de esc\u00e1neres de huellas dactilares y faciales para compras\u00a0es m\u00e1s seguro que las contrase\u00f1as tradicionales.<\/p>\n
El sistema comprueba que la imagen funcionamiento de MasterCard se basa en comprobar con cada compra la identidad del usuario: aquellos que quieran empezar a utilizar este sistema de\u00a0pago por selfie, tendr\u00e1n que descargar una aplicaci\u00f3n especial de MasterCard que les permita\u00a0hacerse una foto cada vez que hagan una compra\u00a0en l\u00ednea. De esta forma, la cara del usuario ser\u00e1 analizada para demostrar que no son los los hackers o ladrones los que est\u00e1n haciendo una compra.<\/p>\n
Lo m\u00e1s interesante es que el sistema tiene una forma de verificar que la foto es reciente y en tiempo real, y no se utiliza una imagen antigua: para verificar que se trata de una autofoto legitima, el sistema obliga a los usuarios a parpadear cuando se toman su propia foto\u00a0a trav\u00e9s de un sistema de indicaciones, algo que impida que pueda ser utilizado un v\u00eddeo, por ejemplo.<\/p>\n
MasterCard no es, de hecho, la \u00fanica compa\u00f1\u00eda que esta apostando por el reconocimiento facial como forma de verificar la identidad, puesto que esta tecnolog\u00eda y es una tendencia dentro de las tecnol\u00f3gicas para las que grandes gigantes como Intel tienen planes y soluciones que permiten implementarlas en sistemas de autentificaci\u00f3n de PCs, o verificaci\u00f3n de identidad en el\u00a0sector del autom\u00f3vil.<\/p>\n
