Sin embargo hasta ahora no hab\u00eda sido posible desarrollar circuitos delgados que puedan estirarse sin perder conectividad.<\/p>\n<p>El nuevo circuito puede ser retorcido y estirado en todas las direcciones hasta un mill\u00f3n de veces sin agrietarse o perder sus\u00a0propiedades conductivas, refieren los cient\u00edficos.<\/p>\n<p>Para su desarrollo utilizaron un metal l\u00edquido, hecho de una aleaci\u00f3n de oro y galio capaz de adaptarse los movimientos el\u00e1sticos sin que dejara de conducir la electricidad\u00a0de unos pocos nan\u00f3metros de grosor. Hasta ahora, los experimentos realizados en este sentido hab\u00edan producido estructuras relativamente gruesas.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEl galio es buen conductor de la electricidad y tiene un bajo punto de fusi\u00f3n, alrededor de 28,5 grados cent\u00edgrados. De hecho, este metal se usa comercialmente desde hace tiempo, mezclado con el indio y el esta\u00f1o (galistano), como sustituto del mercurio en\u00a0term\u00f3metros\u00a0por su menor toxicidad.\u00a0Gracias al proceso conocido como sobre enfriamiento permanece en estado l\u00edquido a temperatura ambiente\u201d, dijo\u00a0Arthur Hirsch, responsable de la investigaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPor su parte la capa de oro asegura que el galio permanezca homog\u00e9neo y evita que se separe en gotitas cuando entra en contacto con el\u00a0pol\u00edmero, lo que arruinar\u00eda su conductividad\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>El galio se ha convertido en un metal prometedor para conductores flexibles, pues es liquido casi a temperatura ambiente.\u00a0El problema, es su alta tensi\u00f3n superficial y que en su estado l\u00edquido se ve rodeado de una capa de \u00f3xido de un espesor de pocos nan\u00f3metros, lo que hace que sea dif\u00edcil crear una pel\u00edcula delgada. Aqu\u00ed entra en acci\u00f3n el oro: \u201cCuando se deposita el galio sobre una fina pel\u00edcula de oro, forma una pel\u00edcula continua de una\u00a0aleaci\u00f3n de oro\/galio s\u00f3lido y galio l\u00edquido; \u00e9sta es capaz de deformarse y volver a su forma inicial al sufrir una deformaci\u00f3n aplicada\u201d, agrego.<\/p>\n<p>Hasta la fecha, los esfuerzos se hab\u00edan concretado en la obtenci\u00f3n de cables capaces de estirarse sin perder su conductividad. Ahora, el logro de los investigadores de la EPFL da un importante paso m\u00e1s all\u00e1.<\/p>\n<p>Entre sus aplicaciones se encuentra ademas de\u00a0integrar objetos electr\u00f3nicos deformables, esta introducirlos en la industria textil, automovil\u00edstica hasta en el campo de la salud donde aun se explora la creaci\u00f3n de una\u00a0piel artificial.<br \/>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\"
