reciente<\/a><\/span>\u00a0de NYU lo destac\u00f3 como una de las plataformas por las que deber\u00edamos preocuparnos m\u00e1s.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"jsx-1279085685\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Medir la desinformaci\u00f3n en WhatsApp puede ser complicado.\u00a0A diferencia de Facebook y Twitter, WhatsApp es una herramienta de chat privada y encriptada, lo que significa que gran parte del contenido est\u00e1 fuera de alcance.\u00a0Puede ser dif\u00edcil determinar si los nuevos cambios, como el l\u00edmite de reenv\u00edo, realmente #000000;\"><strong>C\u00f3mo estudiar WhatsApp:\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0Por supuesto, Garimella y sus colegas no pudieron acceder a chats privados.\u00a0Pero hay enormes grupos p\u00fablicos a los que las personas pueden unirse, y los candidatos pol\u00edticos los\u00a0<span class=\"jsx-2473920458 storyLink\"><a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.livemint.com\/Technology\/O6DLmIibCCV5luEG9XuJWL\/How-widespread-is-WhatsApps-usage-in-India.html\" style=\"color: #000000;\">utilizan cada vez m\u00e1s para contactar a los votantes<\/a><\/span>\u00a0.\u00a0Entonces, los investigadores se unieron a miles de estos grupos p\u00fablicos en Brasil, India e Indonesia.\u00a0Al recopilar los datos y analizar casi seis millones de mensajes p\u00fablicos en tres pa\u00edses, pudieron reconstruir una red y ejecutar simulaciones para probar c\u00f3mo los diferentes l\u00edmites de reenv\u00edo afectaron la rapidez con que se pod\u00eda propagar la informaci\u00f3n con diferentes niveles de viralidad.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"jsx-1279085685\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Los resultados:<\/strong>\u00a0descubrieron que cambiar el l\u00edmite de reenv\u00edo a cinco ralentizaba la difusi\u00f3n de informaci\u00f3n en aproximadamente un orden de magnitud.\u00a0Seg\u00fan el nuevo l\u00edmite, el 80% de los mensajes murieron en dos d\u00edas, pero el 20% todav\u00eda eran muy virales y llegaron a la red completa durante este tiempo, seg\u00fan Garimella.\u00a0El resultado no es perfecto porque, de nuevo, solo usa datos p\u00fablicos, pero muestra lo que pueden hacer arreglos aparentemente peque\u00f1os.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"jsx-1279085685\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Los investigadores sugieren que WhatsApp podr\u00eda ser m\u00e1s eficaz al adoptar un enfoque pr\u00e1ctico de &#8220;cuarentena&#8221; y limitar directamente el reenv\u00edo de mensajes espec\u00edficos o de personas espec\u00edficas.\u00a0&#8220;Saben si una informaci\u00f3n es viral&#8221;, dice Garimella, y los verificadores de datos
