{"id":18717,"date":"2019-09-30T08:41:33","date_gmt":"2019-09-30T14:41:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/?p=18717"},"modified":"2019-09-30T08:42:08","modified_gmt":"2019-09-30T14:42:08","slug":"como-la-inteligencia-artificial-ayuda-a-combatir-la-depresion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/ia\/como-la-inteligencia-artificial-ayuda-a-combatir-la-depresion\/","title":{"rendered":"C\u00f3mo la inteligencia artificial ayuda a combatir la depresi\u00f3n"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Acercarse a una soluci\u00f3n para pacientes con depresi\u00f3n hizo que investigadores del Centro M\u00e9dico Southwestern de la Universidad de Texas (<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.utsouthwestern.edu\/newsroom\/articles\/year-2019\/ai-predicts-depression.html\" style=\"color: #000000;\">UT Southwestern<\/a><\/strong>) decidieran usar la inteligencia artificial en dos estudios.<!--more--><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Determinar la efectividad de los antidepresivos era el objetivo de los cient\u00edficos, quienes examinaron la actividad neuronal de m\u00e1s de 300 participantes, expuestos a diversas emociones, con la ayuda de la inteligencia artificial.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201cNecesitamos terminar el juego de adivinanzas y encontrar medidas objetivas para prescribir intervenciones que funcionen\u201d, advirti\u00f3 el doctor Madhukar Trivedi, director del Centro de Investigaci\u00f3n y Atenci\u00f3n Cl\u00ednica de la Depresi\u00f3n de UT Southwestern.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Justific\u00f3 el uso de la inteligencia artificial como herramienta eficaz para la ciencia:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Al igual que la tecnolog\u00eda puede identificarnos a trav\u00e9s de huellas digitales y esc\u00e1neres faciales, estos estudios muestran que podemos usar im\u00e1genes para identificar firmas espec\u00edficas de depresi\u00f3n en las personas\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Ensayo y error<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Ambas investigaciones tomaron en cuenta los hallazgos del ensayo cl\u00ednico\u00a0<strong>EMBARC<\/strong>, realizado por varias instituciones de Estados Unidos para establecer estrategias que minimicen el ensayo y error a la hora de prescribir tratamientos para esta enfermedad.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201cLas personas con depresi\u00f3n ya sufren de desesperanza, y el problema puede empeorar si toman un medicamento que no es efectivo\u201d, reconoce el doctor Trivedi.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Por ello, creen que usando la inteligencia artificial y an\u00e1lisis de sangre podr\u00edan aumentar las probabilidades de aumentar el tratamiento correcto.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"fluid-width-image-wrapper\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fayerwayer.com\/2019\/09\/inteligencia-artificial-depresion\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\" rel=\"noopener\" style=\"color: #000000;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-790126\" alt=\"C\u00f3mo la inteligencia artificial ayuda a combatir la depresi\u00f3n\" title=\"C\u00f3mo la inteligencia artificial ayuda a combatir la depresi\u00f3n\" src=\"https:\/\/media.metrolatam.com\/2019\/09\/26\/depresionintelig-81356069a266b8baa4c379ecb528dbc7.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Los beneficios de la inteligencia artificial<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">En este caso, a los pacientes que se les tom\u00f3 im\u00e1genes cerebrales fueron sometidos a \u201cun conflicto emocional\u201d. Les mostraron fotos con mensajes contradictorios, que deb\u00edan leer antes de pasar a la siguiente.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Gracias a la inteligencia artificial se identificaron las regiones cerebrales m\u00e1s importantes para predecir si los pacientes mejorar\u00edan con un antidepresivo.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Quienes tuvieron respuestas neuronales anormales durante el conflicto emocional ten\u00edan menos probabilidades de mejorar dentro de las ocho semanas siguientes al inicio de la medicaci\u00f3n.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Para Trivedi \u201clos hallazgos de estos nuevos estudios son significativos y nos acercan a usarlos cl\u00ednicamente para mejorar los resultados para millones de personas\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Fuente:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>FayerWayer.
