No s\u00f3lo se trata de nuevos aviones, con materiales m\u00e1s ligeros y resistentes o motores m\u00e1s potentes y ecol\u00f3gicos, el sistema como tal necesita innovaci\u00f3n para las diversas \u00e1reas que gestiona: control de tr\u00e1nsito a\u00e9reo, aeropuertos, pasajeros y confort a bordo. Todo ello est\u00e1 siendo atendido por una industria que crece d\u00eda con d\u00eda y cuyo impacto en la econom\u00eda es cada vez m\u00e1s importante.<!--more--><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Despu\u00e9s de la desaparici\u00f3n del Boeing 777 de Malaysian Airlines (MH370), ocurrido en el 2014, misterio que sigue sin resolverse, se ha desarrollado nueva tecnolog\u00eda para mantener conectadas a las aeronaves continuamente. De hecho, ya existe una especie de wize del aire que ha desarrollado la empresa de tecnolog\u00eda SITA, fundada en 1949 por un grupo de aerol\u00edneas, y que hoy es vanguardia en todo el mundo por el desarrollo de sistemas tanto para apoyo en aire como en tierra.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Este sistema de colaboraci\u00f3n entre diversas aeronaves, que est\u00e1 montado en la plataforma que SITA provee, permite tambi\u00e9n identificar las zonas de turbulencia (sobre todo las llamadas de \u201caire claro\u201d, que no son f\u00e1cilmente identificables) para que el resto de las aeronaves que cruza un espacio a\u00e9reo determinado tenga alertas tempranas que les permitan hacer un vuelo m\u00e1s seguro.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">En el asunto de los aeropuertos y el manejo de equipaje, hoy por hoy uno de los retos m\u00e1s importantes para el transporte a\u00e9reo, se est\u00e1n habilitando sistemas m\u00e1s eficientes, por ejemplo, para hacer el tr\u00e1mite de documentaci\u00f3n de pasajeros y equipaje que pueden ya hacerse en l\u00ednea y en los quioscos de los aeropuertos, lo que ahorra mucho tiempo. Para el 2021 se espera que casi 95% de los aeropuertos del mundo cuenten ya con estos sistemas perfectamente integrados y que informaci\u00f3n cr\u00edtica, como las demoras, cancelaciones o incluso sobreventas, puedan ser informados directamente a los pasajeros en sus dispositivos m\u00f3viles.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Tambi\u00e9n la documentaci\u00f3n de equipaje es un proceso que poco a poco se va haciendo autogestivo, de forma que m\u00e1s o menos en tres a\u00f1os este servicio estar\u00e1 disponible en 78% de los aeropuertos. No s\u00f3lo es el tr\u00e1mite a la entrega sino el seguimiento continuo de las maletas, que tambi\u00e9n se est\u00e1 perfeccionando, por ejemplo, a trav\u00e9s de chips que muestren en todo momento el itinerario que sigue una pieza para evitar que se pierda.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Pero uno de los productos estrella es el reconocimiento biom\u00e9trico que permitir\u00e1 a los aeropuertos y sobre todo a las autoridades migratorias evitar las largas colas de viajeros para revisar pasaportes y a los pasajeros circular m\u00e1s r\u00e1pido y sin las molestas supervisiones que hoy en d\u00eda hacen odiosas a las terminales a\u00e9reas (\u00a1y no se diga a los revisores!). Se estima que para el a\u00f1o 2025 68% de los pasajeros a\u00e9reos est\u00e9n en esta modalidad.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Blockchain &amp; IoT es un concepto que tambi\u00e9n est\u00e1 revolucionando la gesti\u00f3n aeroportuaria que se hab\u00eda vuelto muy dif\u00edcil, tanto por razones de seguridad como por el constante crecimiento del sector transporte a\u00e9reo que plantea retos inmensos a los operadores de las terminales a\u00e9reas. Esto significa unir el llamado internet de las cosas (la conexi\u00f3n directa entre dispositivos) con el blockchain para el almacenamiento, transmisi\u00f3n y confirmaci\u00f3n de datos. Este binomio permite reducir costos y gestionar de forma m\u00e1s confiable el manejo de vuelos, pasajeros, carga, equipaje y dem\u00e1s, porque proporciona un nivel de seguridad muy elevado y permite predecir contingencias como retrasos y cancelaciones por clima, incluso por vencimientos de jornada o fallas de mantenimiento.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Las plataformas de SITA son monitoreadas desde sus centros de control en Montreal y Singapur y proporcionan a las aerol\u00edneas y a los aeropuertos no s\u00f3lo un considerable ahorro sino una garant\u00eda de seguridad que sin duda est\u00e1 poniendo ejemplo a nivel global.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Fuente:\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>Rosario Avil\u00e9s, R.
