{"id":19261,"date":"2019-11-28T08:55:55","date_gmt":"2019-11-28T14:55:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/?p=19261"},"modified":"2019-11-28T08:55:55","modified_gmt":"2019-11-28T14:55:55","slug":"la-extincion-de-los-neandertales-pudo-deberse-a-un-simple-golpe-de-mala-suerte","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/ciencia\/la-extincion-de-los-neandertales-pudo-deberse-a-un-simple-golpe-de-mala-suerte\/","title":{"rendered":"La extinci\u00f3n de los neandertales pudo deberse a un simple golpe de mala suerte"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Los neandertales desaparecieron hace unos 40.000 a\u00f1os<\/strong>, casi al mismo tiempo que los humanos anat\u00f3micamente modernos comenzaron a migrar al Cercano Oriente y Europa.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Los paleoantrop\u00f3logos discuten a\u00fan hasta qu\u00e9 punto nosotros propiciamos su extinci\u00f3n, pero<span>\u00a0<\/span>un nuevo estudio<span>\u00a0<\/span><strong>sugiere que quiz\u00e1 todo se debi\u00f3 a un golpe de mala suerte<\/strong>.<!--more--><\/p>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Endogamia<\/h5>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Seg\u00fan la investigadora<span>\u00a0<\/span><strong>Krist Vaesen<\/strong><span>\u00a0<\/span>y sus colegas de la Universidad Tecnol\u00f3gica de Eindhoven (Holanda) probablemente una concatenaci\u00f3n de golpes de mala suerte fue la responsable de la extinci\u00f3n de los neandertales, tales como peque\u00f1as poblaciones, endogamia y fluctuaciones demogr\u00e1ficas aleatorias, sin que sea necesario as\u00ed el concurso de factores externos como la competencia de los humanos modernos.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Para llegar a esta conclusi\u00f3n, se emplearon datos de poblaciones de cazadores-recolectores existentes como par\u00e1metros, desarroll\u00e1ndose as\u00ed modelos de poblaci\u00f3n para<span>\u00a0<\/span><strong>poblaciones de neandertales simuladas de varios tama\u00f1os iniciales<\/strong><span>\u00a0<\/span>(50, 100, 500, 1.000 o 5.000 individuos).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">En estos modelos se aplicaron los efectos de la endogamia, los<span>\u00a0<\/span>efectos Allee<span>\u00a0<\/span>(se produce cuando, a partir de cierto umbral, el tama\u00f1o poblacional es tan reducido que la tasa de supervivencia y\/o la tasa reproductiva desciende debido a que los individuos no se reproducen al no encontrarse con m\u00e1s individuos de la misma poblaci\u00f3n) y<span>\u00a0<\/span><strong>las fluctuaciones demogr\u00e1ficas<\/strong><span>\u00a0<\/span>aleatorias anuales en nacimientos, muertes y la proporci\u00f3n de sexos.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Estos dos \u00faltimos factores parecen los m\u00e1s determinantes<\/strong>. Con todo, tambi\u00e9n es posible que los humanos modernos hayan impactado a las poblaciones de neandertales de una manera que reforz\u00f3 la endogamia y los efectos Allee. Seg\u00fan explica la autora:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Eso no descarta completamente que los humanos tuvieran alg\u00fan papel en la extinci\u00f3n. Pero nuestros modelos sugieren que ese papel podr\u00eda no haber sido el que algunos cient\u00edficos suelen reivindicar.
