investigaci\u00f3n de\u00a0Stuart Licht\u00a0, un profesor de qu\u00edmica en la Universidad George Washington, que utilizan la qu\u00edmica de carbonato fundido para transformar el di\u00f3xido de carbono atmosf\u00e9rico (CO\u00a02\u00a0) en nanomateriales valiosos (leer m\u00e1s: &#8221;\u00a0&#8216; La qu\u00edmica de los diamantes del cielo convierte el gas de efecto invernadero en valiosos materiales de nanocarbono\u00a0&#8220;).<br \/>\nEn este proceso, que Licht denomina\u00a0C2CNT\u00a0(di\u00f3xido de carbono a\u00a0nanotubos de carbono\u00a0), CO\u00a02\u00a0se divide en sus componentes constituyentes de carbono y ox\u00edgeno mediante electr\u00f3lisis de carbonato fundido.<!--more--><br \/>\nEl proceso de electr\u00f3lisis fundida es similar al proceso industrial en el que se produce aluminio a partir de su \u00f3xido (\u00f3xido de aluminio, bauxita), aunque aqu\u00ed otro \u00f3xido, di\u00f3xido de carbono, es la materia prima y se producen nanomateriales de carbono.<br \/>\nM\u00e1s recientemente, el grupo de Licht ha demostrado que cuando los agentes nucleantes de metales de transici\u00f3n se excluyen espec\u00edficamente del proceso C2CNT, se inhibe el crecimiento de nanotubos de carbono y se pueden sintetizar otros nanomateriales de carbono uniformes.\u00a0Espec\u00edficamente, los valiosos nanomateriales de carbono, incluidas las nano-cebollas de carbono y el\u00a0grafeno,\u00a0se pueden producir con alto rendimiento mediante electr\u00f3lisis de carbonato fundido con energ\u00eda solar (\u00a0Cuentas de Investigaci\u00f3n sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Se puede sintetizar una amplia gama de productos uniformes de nanomateriales de carbono mediante\u00a0electr\u00f3lisis de\u00a0CO\u00a02\u00a0en carbonatos fundidos, incluidas nano-cebollas de carbono (que se muestran despu\u00e9s de 15-90 minutos de electr\u00f3lisis), nanoplaquetas de carbono, grafeno y una variedad divisi\u00f3n electrol\u00edtica de CO\u00a02 de\u00a0carbonato fundido\u00a0en un producto de carbono nano-delgado (nanoplaquetas de carbono) compuesto de 25 a 125 capas de grafeno, y la posterior exfoliaci\u00f3n electroqu\u00edmica de las nanoplaquetas a grafeno en una soluci\u00f3n acuosa soluble en carbonato.<br \/>\n&#8220;Los \u00fanicos productos de la electr\u00f3lisis de di\u00f3xido de carbono son sencillos: nanoplaquetas de carbono de alto rendimiento y ox\u00edgeno&#8221;, explica Licht a Nanowerk.\u00a0&#8220;Las nanoplaquetas de carbono proporcionan un punto de partida m\u00e1s delgado que un reactivo de grafito convencional para facilitar la exfoliaci\u00f3n electroqu\u00edmica&#8221;.<br \/>\nEl grafeno producido de esta manera tiene un espesor de 1 a 5 capas de carbono, pero una dimensi\u00f3n lateral relativamente peque\u00f1a de 2 a 8 \u00b5m.\u00a0Este tama\u00f1o lateral es, por ejemplo, para uso en grafeno como lubricante, en \u00e1nodos de bater\u00eda y en aplicaciones de aditivos de grafeno.<br \/>\nComo se muestra en la figura a continuaci\u00f3n, la exfoliaci\u00f3n electroqu\u00edmica de grafeno es un proceso en el que los iones intercalados entre las capas de grafito se oxidan, formando gases que rompen los enlaces entre capas y liberan l\u00e1minas de grafeno.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/id54125_2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" electrol\u00edticamente a ultra-delgada producto plaquetas grafeno por electr\u00f3lisis de carbonato fundido.\u00a0B: El producto que contiene el c\u00e1todo de s\u00edntesis de carbonato se enfr\u00eda y se coloca en un tubo de celulosa que contiene agua (NH\u00a04\u00a0)\u00a02\u00a0SO\u00a04\u00a0.\u00a0C: el tubo de celulosa se coloca en de\u00a0CO\u00a02\u00a0es inusual, ya que permite la eliminaci\u00f3n del gas de efecto invernadero no solo de las corrientes concentradas, como los gases de combusti\u00f3n industriales, sino tambi\u00e9n, sin la necesidad de preconcentraci\u00f3n o purificaci\u00f3n, directamente del aire&#8221;.
