de<span>\u00a0<\/span><strong>piel artificial electr\u00f3nica capaz de reaccionar al dolor como la piel humana<\/strong>, lo que ayudar\u00e1 a desarrollar mejores pr\u00f3tesis, rob\u00f3tica m\u00e1s inteligente y alternativas no invasivas a los injertos.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Desarrollado por un equipo de la Universidad RMIT en Melbourne, Australia,<span>\u00a0<\/span><strong>el prototipo es capaz de replicar electr\u00f3nicamente la forma en que la piel humana siente el dolor<\/strong>, ya que imita la respuesta (o feedback) casi instant\u00e1nea del cuerpo y puede reaccionar a las sensaciones dolorosas con la misma velocidad que las se\u00f1ales nerviosas que viajan (e informan) al cerebro.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El prototipo, publicado en la revista Advanced Intelligent Systems, supone \u201cun avance significativo hacia la<span>\u00a0<\/span><strong>pr\u00f3xima generaci\u00f3n de tecnolog\u00edas biom\u00e9dicas y rob\u00f3tica inteligente\u201d,<\/strong><span>\u00a0<\/span>asegura Madhu Bhaskaran, investigador principal del estudio y jefe del grupo de Materiales Funcionales y Microsistemas de RMIT.<\/p>\n<div class=\"articlematching-container vi-stories-top-div viUnit2\" id=\"vi-container-1672904572\" div=\"\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div id=\"vi-stories-main-container\" class=\"vi-stories-player-container vi-stories-z-index-base HTMLPlayer-module__container\"><a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/2smr5VR\"><em><\/em><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La piel, el \u00f3rgano sensorial m\u00e1s grande de nuestro organismo, cuenta con complejas caracter\u00edsticas dise\u00f1adas para enviar se\u00f1ales de alerta de disparo r\u00e1pido cuando algo duele.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cSentimos cosas todo el tiempo a trav\u00e9s de la piel, pero nuestra respuesta de dolor s\u00f3lo se activa en un cierto punto, como cuando tocamos algo demasiado caliente o demasiado afilado\u201d, explica Bhaskaran.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Precisamente por esta capacidad, \u201c<strong>ninguna tecnolog\u00eda electr\u00f3nica ha sido capaz de imitar con realismo esa sensaci\u00f3n de dolor tan humana<\/strong>, hasta ahora\u201d. \u201cNuestra piel artificial reacciona instant\u00e1neamente cuando la presi\u00f3n, el calor o el fr\u00edo alcanzan un umbral de dolor\u201d, afirma.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com.mx\/\"><em>Sigue la informaci\u00f3n sobre la econom\u00eda y los negocios en Forbes M\u00e9xico<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Y es que el equipo de investigadores tambi\u00e9n ha desarrollado dispositivos equipados con electr\u00f3nica \u201cestirable\u201d, capaz de detectar y responder a cambios de temperatura y presi\u00f3n, un avance que en el futuro podr\u00eda ser una opci\u00f3n para los injertos de piel no invasivos.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cHar\u00e1 falta un mayor desarrollo para integrar esta tecnolog\u00eda en las aplicaciones biom\u00e9dicas, pero los fundamentos, biocompatibilidad y estiramiento similar a la piel, ya est\u00e1n ah\u00ed\u201d, sostiene Bhaskaran.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La investigaci\u00f3n re\u00fane tres tecnolog\u00edas previamente patentadas por el equipo:<span>\u00a0<\/span><strong>electr\u00f3nica estirable, reactivos a la temperatura y memoria electr\u00f3nica.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La electr\u00f3nica estirable est\u00e1 fabricada con materiales biocompatibles que logran una electr\u00f3nica transparente, irrompible y llevable, tan fina como una pegatina.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Los recubrimientos reactivos a la temperatura son unas mil veces m\u00e1s finos que un cabello humano y est\u00e1n hechos con un material que se transforma en respuesta al calor.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Y, finalmente,<span>\u00a0<\/span><strong>la memoria que imita al cerebro est\u00e1 hecha a partir de unas c\u00e9lulas de memoria electr\u00f3nica<span>\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>que copian la forma en que el cerebro usa la memoria a largo plazo para recordar y retener informaci\u00f3n previa.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El prototipo de sensor de presi\u00f3n combina la electr\u00f3nica extensible y las c\u00e9lulas de memoria a largo plazo, el sensor de calor re\u00fane los revestimientos reactivos a la temperatura y la memoria, mientras que el sensor de dolor integra las tres tecnolog\u00edas.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Para Ataur Rahman, investigador y coautor de la investigaci\u00f3n, el equipo ha creado \u201clos primeros sensores electr\u00f3nicos capaces de replicar caracter\u00edsticas clave del complejo sistema de neuronas, v\u00edas neuronales y receptores del cuerpo\u201d que dirigen la percepci\u00f3n de los est\u00edmulos sensoriales.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Y aunque algunas<span>\u00a0<\/span><strong>tecnolog\u00edas tambi\u00e9n emplean se\u00f1ales el\u00e9ctricas para imitar distintos grados de dolor<\/strong>, los nuevos prototipos \u201cpueden reaccionar a la presi\u00f3n, la temperatura y el dolor reales, y ofrecer la respuesta electr\u00f3nica correcta\u201d.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cNuestra piel artificial sabe la diferencia entre tocar suavemente un alfiler con el dedo o apu\u00f1alarse
