{"id":2067,"date":"2016-04-01T11:57:45","date_gmt":"2016-04-01T17:57:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/?p=2067"},"modified":"2016-04-01T12:38:58","modified_gmt":"2016-04-01T18:38:58","slug":"cientificos-logran-cultivar-el-primer-tejido-cardiaco-funcional-a-partir-de-celulas-madre","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/ciencia\/cientificos-logran-cultivar-el-primer-tejido-cardiaco-funcional-a-partir-de-celulas-madre\/","title":{"rendered":"Cient\u00edficos logran cultivar el primer tejido card\u00edaco funcional a partir de c\u00e9lulas madre"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Los trasplantes de coraz\u00f3n salvan incontables vidas, pero son un procedimiento muy complejo que depende de la disponibilidad de donantes y de f\u00e1rmacos que permitan al paciente superar el rechazo.<!--more--> Todo eso podr\u00eda cambiar muy pronto gracias a un avance que abre las puertas a cultivar en laboratorio corazones id\u00e9nticos a los del paciente.<\/p>\n<p>Es, de hecho, la primera vez que se logra cultivar tejido card\u00edaco funcional a partir de\u00a0c\u00e9lulas madre pluripotentes inducidas\u00a0(iPS por sus siglas en ingl\u00e9s). El procedimiento a\u00fan requiere un coraz\u00f3n, pero permitir\u00e1 evitar completamente los problemas de rechazo. La t\u00e9cnica implica\u00a0descelularizar\u00a0un \u00f3rgano y sustituir sus tejidos por otros cultivados a partir de iSP.<\/p>\n<p>El estudio ha utilizado 73 corazones cuyo uso se ha autorizado expresamente para el estudio. Despu\u00e9s de convertir celulas iSP en m\u00e1s de 500 millones de c\u00e9lulas card\u00edacas o\u00a0cardiomiocitos, estas se han implantado en los corazones ya descelularizados. Al cabo de unos d\u00edas, las estructuras han comenzado a formar tejido card\u00edaco que se contrae de manera refleja como el de un coraz\u00f3n funcional.<\/p>\n<p>A\u00fan quedan unos a\u00f1os de trabajo hasta que la t\u00e9cnica est\u00e9 lista para crear corazones completamente funcionales, pero de momento ya sirve para algo muy \u00fatil: parches card\u00edacos que puedan sustituir \u00e1reas de tejido da\u00f1adas por un infarto.\u00a0Jacques Guyette, del Centro de Medicina Regenerativa del Hospital General de Massachusetts y uno de los principales autores del estudio explica:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Regenerar un \u00f3rgano completo es un objetivo a largo plazo para el que a\u00fan quedan unos a\u00f1os. Actualmente estamos trabajando en crear un parche mioc\u00e1rdico funcional que permitir\u00e1 reemplazar el tejido da\u00f1ado durante un ataque al coraz\u00f3n o un fallo
