Seg\u00fan un nuevo estudio realizado por investigadores de\u00a0<a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ibm.com\/es-es\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">IBM<\/a>, la respuesta es s\u00ed. Y se trata de un hallazgo fundamental teniendo en cuenta que a nivel global la cantidad de gente que lo padece equivale a la poblaci\u00f3n de Espa\u00f1a y que uno de cada 10 personas mayores de 65 a\u00f1os lo\u00a0desarrollar\u00e1.<!--more--><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Los autores del estudio, publicado en\u00a0<a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thelancet.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Lancet<\/a>, tambi\u00e9n se\u00f1alan que el Alzheimer es s\u00f3lo el comienzo.\u00a0Las personas con una amplia variedad de enfermedades neurol\u00f3gicas tienen patrones de lenguaje distintivos que pueden servir como se\u00f1ales de alerta temprana\u00a0de sus enfermedades.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Los autores del estudio analizaron a un grupo de 80 hombres y mujeres de 80 a\u00f1os; la mitad ten\u00eda Alzheimer y los dem\u00e1s no. Pero, siete a\u00f1os y medio antes, ninguno de ellos mostraban deterioro cognitivo. El an\u00e1lisis consist\u00eda en una prueba de escritura (antes de que cualquiera de ellos hubiera desarrollado Alzheimer) en la que se les ped\u00eda que describan un dibujo de una escena cotidiana.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Los investigadores examinaron el uso de palabras de los sujetos con un programa de inteligencia artificial que buscaba diferencias sutiles en el lenguaje. Gracias al uso de esta IA fue posible identificar a aquellos que repet\u00edan con m\u00e1s frecuencia ciertas palabras, las escrib\u00edan de forma err\u00f3nea, con may\u00fasculas donde no iban o utilizaban un lenguaje telegr\u00e1fico.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">La IA predijo, con un 75% de precisi\u00f3n, qui\u00e9n contraer\u00eda la enfermedad de Alzheimer, seg\u00fan los resultados publicados. Esto permitir\u00eda dirigir con mayor precisi\u00f3n terapias destinadas a demorar la aparici\u00f3n de la enfermedad.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">La esperanza es ampliar el trabajo de Alzheimer para encontrar cambios sutiles en el uso del lenguaje por parte de personas sin s\u00edntomas obvios pero que desarrollar\u00e1n otras enfermedades neurol\u00f3gicas.
