inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Un equipo de f\u00edsicos de la Universidad de Arkansas ha desarrollado con \u00e9xito un circuito capaz de capturar el movimiento t\u00e9rmico del grafeno y convertirlo en una corriente el\u00e9ctrica.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><!--more--><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\"><p><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Un circuito de captaci\u00f3n de energ\u00eda basado en el grafeno podr\u00eda incorporar un chip para proporcionar energ\u00eda limpia, ilimitada y de bajo voltaje para peque\u00f1os dispositivos o sensores.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><cite><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Paul Thibado, profesor de f\u00edsica e investigador principal.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Los resultados publicados en la revista Physical Review E, son la prueba de una teor\u00eda que los f\u00edsicos desarrollaron en la Universidad de Arizona hace tres a\u00f1os, seg\u00fan la cual el grafeno, una sola capa de \u00e1tomos de carbono, se ondula y se dobla de una manera que permite la captaci\u00f3n de energ\u00eda.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">La idea de captar energ\u00eda del grafeno es controvertida porque refuta la conocida afirmaci\u00f3n del f\u00edsico Richard Feynman de que el movimiento t\u00e9rmico de los \u00e1tomos, conocido como movimiento Browniano, no puede funcionar. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">El equipo de Thibado encontr\u00f3 que a temperatura ambiente el movimiento t\u00e9rmico del grafeno induce de hecho una corriente alterna (CA) en un circuito, un logro que se piensa que es imposible.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">En los a\u00f1os 50, el f\u00edsico L\u00e9on Brillouin public\u00f3 un art\u00edculo hist\u00f3rico que refutaba la idea de que a\u00f1adir un solo diodo, una puerta el\u00e9ctrica unidireccional, un circuito es la soluci\u00f3n para captar energ\u00eda del movimiento Browniano.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Sabiendo esto, el grupo de Thibado construy\u00f3 su circuito con dos diodos para convertir la CA en una corriente continua (CC). <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Con los diodos en oposici\u00f3n permitir\u00e1 que la corriente fluya en ambos sentidos, proporciona caminos separados a trav\u00e9s del circuito, produciendo una corriente continua pulsante que realiza el trabajo en una resistencia.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Adem\u00e1s, descubrieron que su dise\u00f1o aumentaba la cantidad de energ\u00eda entregada. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">\u201c <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><em><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Tambi\u00e9n descubrimos que el comportamiento de los diodos, como un interruptor, amplifica la potencia entregada, en el lugar de reducirla, como se pensaba anteriormente<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/em><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"> \u201d, dijo Thibado.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">El equipo us\u00f3 un campo relativamente nuevo de la f\u00edsica para probar que los diodos aumentaban la potencia del circuito. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">\u201c <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><em><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Para probar este aumento de potencia, nos basamos en el campo emergente de la termodin\u00e1mica estoc\u00e1stica y ampliamos la casi centenaria y c\u00e9lebre teor\u00eda de Nyquist<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/em><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"> \u201d, dijo el coautor Pradeep Kumar, profesor asociado de f\u00edsica y coautor.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Seg\u00fan Kumar, el grafeno y el circuito comparten una relaci\u00f3n simbi\u00f3tica. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Aunque el entorno t\u00e9rmico est\u00e1 realizando un trabajo en la resistencia de carga, el grafeno y el circuito est\u00e1n a la misma temperatura y el calor no fluye entre ambos.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Esa es una distinci\u00f3n importante, dijo Thibado, porque una diferencia de temperatura entre el grafeno y el circuito, en un circuito que produce energ\u00eda, contradir\u00eda la segunda ley de la termodin\u00e1mica. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">\u201c <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><em><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Esto significa que no se viola la segunda ley de la termodin\u00e1mica, ni hay necesidad de argumentar que el &#8216;Demonio de Maxwell&#8217; est\u00e1 separando los electrones calientes y los fr\u00edos<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/em><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"> \u201d, dijo Thibado.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">El equipo tambi\u00e9n descubri\u00f3 que el movimiento relativamente lento del grafeno induce corriente en el circuito a bajas frecuencias, lo cual es importante desde una perspectiva tecnol\u00f3gica porque la electr\u00f3nica funciona m\u00e1s eficientemente a frecuencias m\u00e1s bajas.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">\u201c <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><em><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">La gente puede pensar que la corriente que fluye en una resistencia hace que se caliente, pero la corriente Browniana no lo hace. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">De hecho, si no hubiera corriente, la resistencia se enfriar\u00eda<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/em><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"> \u201d, describe Thibado. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">\u201c <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><em><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Lo que hicimos fue redirigir la corriente en el circuito y transformarla en algo \u00fatil<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/em><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"> \u201d.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">El siguiente objetivo del equipo es determinar si la corriente continua se puede almacenar en un condensador para su posterior, un objetivo que requiere miniaturizar el circuito y estamparlo en una oblea de silicio, o un chip. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Si millones de estos diminutos circuitos se podr\u00edan construir en un chip de 1 mil\u00edmetro por 1 mil\u00edmetro, podr\u00edan reemplazar una bater\u00eda de bajo consumo.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<figure
