{"id":21924,"date":"2021-03-19T11:42:49","date_gmt":"2021-03-19T17:42:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/?p=21924"},"modified":"2021-03-19T11:43:17","modified_gmt":"2021-03-19T17:43:17","slug":"mujeres-y-hombres-procesan-el-dolor-de-forma-diferente-en-el-cerebro","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/ciencia\/mujeres-y-hombres-procesan-el-dolor-de-forma-diferente-en-el-cerebro\/","title":{"rendered":"Mujeres y hombres procesan el dolor de forma diferente en el cerebro"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Investigadores de la Universidad de Carolina del Norte han descifrado los mecanismos cerebrales relacionados con las diferencias en la percepci\u00f3n del dolor en hombres y mujeres. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Mediante experimentos en roedores, se pudo determinar el rol de la dopamina en este proceso y evidenciar la actividad en distintas partes del cerebro.<\/span><\/span><!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Concretamente, los cient\u00edficos descubrieron c\u00f3mo las neuronas usan la dopamina para regular el dolor de manera diferente en ratones machos y hembras. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Seg\u00fan un comunicado, a futuro los investigadores intentar\u00e1n descubrir la forma en que esta v\u00eda neuronal puede manejar comportamientos emocionales asociados con el dolor cr\u00f3nico.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Considerando que algunas neuronas espec\u00edficas liberan dopamina para regular las respuestas al dolor, los cient\u00edficos hallaron que en ciertas partes del cerebro la dopamina ayuda a los ratones machos simplemente a no sentir tanto dolor, mientras que en las hembras la misma sustancia permite centrar la atenci\u00f3n en otro aspecto mientras se experimenta el dolor, reduciendo de esta manera su impacto.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">El nuevo trabajo cient\u00edfico, publicado recientemente en la revista Neuron, podr\u00eda ayudar a los especialistas a dise\u00f1ar mejores estrategias de manejo del dolor, tanto en la vida cotidiana como en situaciones concretas y espec\u00edficas, como pueden ser enfermedades o patolog\u00edas cr\u00f3nicas que hacen imprescindible aprender a tolerar mejor el dolor.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"fluid-width-video-wrapper\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><iframe id=\"272979770\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/qPZ7kvM6YFw?enablejsapi=1&amp;origin=https%3A%2F%2Ftendencias21.levante-emv.com\" name=\"fitvid0\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-gtm-yt-inspected-1_25=\"true\" data-gtm-yt-inspected-13618963_343=\"true\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">El rol central de la dopamina<\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Ahora bien, \u00bfc\u00f3mo funciona espec\u00edficamente el proceso neuronal que marca las diferencias en la percepci\u00f3n del dolor en hombres y mujeres? <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Los cient\u00edficos partieron desde un hecho conocido: las neuronas de dopamina, la hormona del placer y la felicidad, tambi\u00e9n cumplen un papel vital en la regulaci\u00f3n del dolor.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">En los nuevos experimentos en roedores, los investigadores se centraron en una v\u00eda neuronal que act\u00faa en la regi\u00f3n del mesenc\u00e9falo. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Esta zona del cerebro est\u00e1 involucrada en la adaptaci\u00f3n del comportamiento: en otras palabras, determina la forma en que los animales aprenden a respondedor a su entorno.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Las neuronas productoras de dopamina act\u00faan en esta regi\u00f3n del cerebro junto con una estructura cerebral llamada n\u00facleo del lecho de la estr\u00eda (BNST), conformando en conjunto una v\u00eda neural. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Fue precisamente en esa zona donde los investigadores comprobaron las diferencias entre ratones machos y hembras.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/archive.org\/embed\/mujeres-y-hombres-procesan-el-dolor-de-forma-diferente-en-el-cerebro\" width=\"500\" height=\"30\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-gtm-yt-inspected-1_25=\"true\" data-gtm-yt-inspected-13618963_343=\"true\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<div id=\"movil-div-gpt-ad_300dchab\" class=\"Creatividad\" style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-type=\"movil\"><\/div>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Reducir el dolor<\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Seg\u00fan Waylin Yu, autor principal del estudio, \u00abdescubrimos que la activaci\u00f3n de esta v\u00eda redujo directamente la sensibilidad al dolor en los ratones machos, pero al mismo tiempo hizo que las hembras se movieran m\u00e1s, especialmente en presencia de algo que captara su atenci\u00f3n, reduciendo de esta forma su percepci\u00f3n del dolor\u00bb, indic\u00f3. Vale recordar que tambi\u00e9n se hab\u00eda explorado en estudios previos el papel de la dopamina en cuanto a la atenci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">De esta forma, la diferencia estar\u00eda dada en la manera de percibir o manejar el dolor. Mientras los machos reducen r\u00e1pidamente la experiencia dolorosa ante la acci\u00f3n de la dopamina, las hembras lo hacen de un modo m\u00e1s sutil: cambiando el foco de atenci\u00f3n hacia otros est\u00edmulos.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Aunque se necesitan nuevos estudios para confirmar estos procesos en los seres humanos, los cient\u00edficos creen que la activaci\u00f3n de proyecciones neuronales espec\u00edficas en las regiones cerebrales mencionadas previamente puede\u00a0reducir el dolor\u00a0inflamatorio agudo y persistente.
