Y si no que se lo digan al equipo de cient\u00edficas del Centro de Investigaciones Biol\u00f3gicas de Madrid que ha logrado descubrir una sofisticada manera de producir biopl\u00e1stico sin necesidad de recurrir al petr\u00f3leo.<\/p>\n<p>El sistema que han ideado se basa en un tipo de bacteria modificada gen\u00e9ticamente para devorar a otro tipo de bacteria productora de biopl\u00e1stico y extraer de ella el material sin degradarlo. Se tratar\u00eda de una extraordinaria manera de conseguir este elemento, mucho m\u00e1s sostenible que los m\u00e9todos convencionales que necesitan de petr\u00f3leo.<\/p>\n<p>Los resultados del trabajo se han publicado en la revista Scientific Reports, del grupo Nature. Seg\u00fan sus creadoras, las bacterias productoras del biopl\u00e1stico, llamadas P. putida KT2440 producen este material y lo acumulan hasta en un 90% de su peso, pero es muy dif\u00edcil de extraer. Para ello, lo que se viene haciendo hasta ahora es utilizar detergentes o sistemas de disrupci\u00f3n para liberar el producto, en un proceso que es contaminante y, adem\u00e1s, poco eficiente.<\/p>\n<p>La innovadora propuesta de estas investigadoras es utilizar a la bacteria B. bacteriovorus como un agente l\u00edtico para que deprede, precisamente, a la bacteria productora, y libere, despu\u00e9s, el biopl\u00e1stico que esta lleva dentro. Eso s\u00ed, sin tener que usar compuestos t\u00f3xicos para ello, ya que la bacteria B. bacteriovorus modificada gen\u00e9ticamente, puede romper las membranas de las c\u00e9lulas en las que est\u00e1 el biopl\u00e1stico, haciendo m\u00e1s sencillo y puro el proceso de extracci\u00f3n del producto.<\/p>\n<p>Las cient\u00edficas responsables del proyecto ya han registrado la patente que parece tener ya pretendientes para empezar a ponerla en pr\u00e1ctica no solo en la fabricaci\u00f3n de biopl\u00e1sticos, sino para extraer de bacterias otros compuestos como prote\u00ednas u otros productos intracelulares de inter\u00e9s industrial.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fuente: elcomentario.ucol.mx<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Aveces, en la ciencia, solo hay que combinar con intuici\u00f3n y paciencia elementos de la naturaleza que est\u00e1n ah\u00ed para que las cosas funcionen.
