inherit;\">Las bater\u00edas se est\u00e1n convirtiendo en dispositivos de almacenamiento de energ\u00eda clave para promover la transici\u00f3n hacia un sistema energ\u00e9tico y un transporte m\u00e1s sostenibles y respetuosos con el medio ambiente gracias a la mejora de sus prestaciones, la disminuci\u00f3n de su precio, as\u00ed como de su peso y volumen por unidad de energ\u00eda almacenada y al desarrollo de nuevas aplicaciones en diversos campos.<\/span><\/span><!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Sin embargo, la sostenibilidad de las propias bater\u00edas est\u00e1 en entredicho por la complejidad y elevado coste de su reciclaje, lo que puede limitar su volumen de producci\u00f3n y su aplicaci\u00f3n en determinados campos. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">En estos momentos en que se est\u00e1n proyectando grandes factor\u00edas de bater\u00edas para veh\u00edculos el\u00e9ctricos ya se est\u00e1 planteando el problema de los residuos que generar\u00e1n estas bater\u00edas al final de su vida \u00fatil. extrayendo de forma selectiva sus componentes en sucesivas etapas de separaci\u00f3n por m\u00e9todos pirometal\u00fargicos o hidrometal\u00fargicos. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">En el caso de las bater\u00edas de ion-Litio estos procesos s\u00f3lo resultan rentables cuando la bater\u00eda contiene una cantidad suficiente de metales valiosos, sobre todo cobalto y, en menor medida, n\u00edquel.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">El Instituto IMDEA Energ\u00eda trabaja en la evaluaci\u00f3n de estrategias de econom\u00eda circular para la gesti\u00f3n de bater\u00edas de tracci\u00f3n, incluido el an\u00e1lisis tecnoecon\u00f3mico y de sostenibilidad de este tipo de sistemas. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Las actividades basadas en An\u00e1lisis de Ciclo de Vida, ACVs, de bater\u00edas combinados con un an\u00e1lisis prospectivo se han centrado en la modelizaci\u00f3n del fin de vida de bater\u00edas mediante:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">La utilizaci\u00f3n de modelos de inventarios de ciclo de vida de bater\u00edas de manera prospectiva para responder a la pregunta: \u00bfcu\u00e1nto impactar\u00e1n diversas opciones de fin de vida, como la reutilizaci\u00f3n o el reciclaje?<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">La simulaci\u00f3n de procesos novedosos de reciclaje de bater\u00edas para conocer su potencial de recuperaci\u00f3n de materiales secundarios y la reducci\u00f3n de impacto asociado a dichos procesos.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.madrimasd.org\/uploads\/noticia3%2029%2004%202021.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" align=\"center\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Ilustraci\u00f3n del concepto de bater\u00eda inyectable. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">(a) se fabrica una celda preformada en la que (b) se inyectan los electrodos semis\u00f3lidos. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Al final de su vida \u00fatil (varios a\u00f1os), la bater\u00eda inyectable se regenera (c) extrayendo los electrodos semis\u00f3lidos y (d) dej\u00e1ndola lista para admitir (e) la reinyecci\u00f3n de electrodos nuevos.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Por otra parte, IMDEA Energ\u00eda investiga sobre un nuevo concepto de electrodos semis\u00f3lidos inyectables que falicitar\u00eda el reciclado de los materiales de electrodo y la reutilizaci\u00f3n de los componentes no activos de la bater\u00eda. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Adem\u00e1s, el espesor de los electrodos se adapta en funci\u00f3n de la capacidad de \u00e1rea requerida y permite inyectar diferentes tipos de material de electrodo seg\u00fan las necesidades. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Se han realizado pruebas de concepto con varios tipos de bater\u00edas como son Zn &#8211; LiFePO4, LiTi2 (PO4) 3 &#8211; LiFePO4 y Li &#8211; LiFePO4. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Los resultados indican que esta estrategia puede ser especialmente interesante para bater\u00edas que utilicen materiales activos de bajo coste comparado con el coste de los materiales no activos.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">La tecnolog\u00eda est\u00e1 protegida mediante el dep\u00f3sito de patente y puede ser de utilidad para la industria de fabricaci\u00f3n de celdas de bater\u00edas, los fabricantes de materiales para electrodos usados \u200b\u200ben bater\u00edas Li-ion (como LFP, NMC, NCA y otros), los productores de sales de Litio o las empresas de reciclaje de bater\u00edas.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align:
