{"id":2253,"date":"2016-04-29T13:05:03","date_gmt":"2016-04-29T19:05:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/?p=2253"},"modified":"2016-04-29T13:12:57","modified_gmt":"2016-04-29T19:12:57","slug":"buscan-iluminar-carreteras-con-cemento-emisor-de-luz","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/tech\/buscan-iluminar-carreteras-con-cemento-emisor-de-luz\/","title":{"rendered":"Buscan iluminar carreteras con cemento emisor de luz"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A fin de iluminar carreteras, autopistas o ciclov\u00edas sin necesidad de energ\u00eda el\u00e9ctrica, el doctor en ciencias Jos\u00e9 Carlos Rubio, de la Universidad Michoacana de San Nicol\u00e1s de Hidalgo (UMSNH), cre\u00f3 un cemento emisor de luz que tiene una duraci\u00f3n de vida de cien a\u00f1os. <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cHace nueve a\u00f1os que inici\u00e9 con el proyecto me di cuenta que no exist\u00eda nada igual a nivel mundial y entonces empec\u00e9 a trabajar en ello. El problema es que el cemento es un cuerpo opaco que no permite el paso de la luz al interior\u201c, se\u00f1al\u00f3 el doctor Jos\u00e9 Carlos Rubio.<\/p>\n<p>Explic\u00f3 que el cemento tradicional es un polvo que al adicionarle agua se disuelve como una pastilla efervescente. \u201cEn ese momento se empieza a formar un \u2018gel\u2019, parecido al que se usa para el cabello, pero mucho m\u00e1s s\u00f3lido y resistente; tambi\u00e9n se crean hojuelas o cristales que son subproductos no deseados en el cemento endurecido\u201c. Por esto, el investigador se enfoc\u00f3 en modificar la microestructura del cemento a fin de que no tuviera cristales y fuera totalmente gel, logrando que absorbiera la energ\u00eda solar y luego la regresara al medio ambiente en forma de luz.<\/p>\n<p>El doctor en ciencias detall\u00f3 que en 2015 la producci\u00f3n de cemento a nivel mundial fue de cuatro billones de toneladas, \u00e1rea donde el nuevo material tiene un mercado ampliamente comercial. Por la ma\u00f1ana el edificio, carretera, camino o plataforma petrolera que cuente con el nuevo cemento puede absorber la energ\u00eda solar y emitirla durante la noche hasta por doce horas.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAunque el d\u00eda est\u00e9 nublado, con los pocos rayos que llegan es suficiente para recargarse, incluso puede usarse en espacios con poca luz como un ba\u00f1o\u201c, detall\u00f3 el cient\u00edfico.<\/p>\n<p>El investigador Jos\u00e9 Carlos Rubio explic\u00f3 que la mayor\u00eda de los materiales fluorescentes est\u00e1n hechos de pl\u00e1stico y duran en promedio tres a\u00f1os porque se deterioran con los rayos ultravioleta; sin embargo, el cemento creado por la universidad Michoacana de San Nicol\u00e1s de Hidalgo es resistente al Sol y tiene un tiempo de vida aproximado de cien a\u00f1os.<\/p>\n<p>Adem\u00e1s, es ecol\u00f3gico porque se hace de arena, tierra o arcilla lo cual forma el gel, y durante su fabricaci\u00f3n s\u00f3lo se libera vapor de agua. Actualmente existe en color azul y verde, y la intensidad de luminiscencia puede regularse para evitar deslumbrar a los ciclistas o automovilistas.<\/p>\n<p>El proyecto mexicano ha inspirado a otras naciones para seguir la l\u00ednea de investigaci\u00f3n. \u201cA partir de esta patente (que es la primera para la universidad) se han derivado otras a nivel mundial. En Reino Unido recibimos el reconocimiento por el fondo Newton que brinda la Academia Real de Ingenier\u00eda de Londres, la cual elige a nivel mundial casos de \u00e9xito de transferencia
