\u00a0detall\u00f3 que este experimento busca estudiar formas para frenar la reproducci\u00f3n de los\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><strong><em><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Aedes aegypti<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/strong><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"> , principales agentes transmisores de enfermedades potencialmente mortales.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">\u00bfPor qu\u00e9 son diferentes los mosquitos de Oxitec?\u00a0<\/span><\/span><a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.oxitec.com\/en\/news\/landmark-project-to-control-disease-carrying-mosquitoes-kicks-off-in-the-florida-keys\" rel=\"follow\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">De acuerdo con la compa\u00f1\u00eda<\/span><\/span><\/a><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"> , los machos de su nube de insectos tienen modificado un gen, llamado OX5034, que restringe la supervivencia de las hembras con las que se apareen. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">As\u00ed, las mosquitos no llegar\u00e1n a crecer lo suficiente para picar a los seres humanos (solo las hembras consumen sangre; los machos se alimentan de n\u00e9ctar).\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Oxitec destac\u00f3 que esta especie solo representa el 4% de la poblaci\u00f3n de mosquitos en Florida, pero es la m\u00e1s transmisora \u200b\u200bde enfermedades.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color:
