Por esto, es l\u00f3gico pensar en formas de captar la energ\u00eda no aprovechada que tienen estas ondas de radio.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Un equipo de investigadores de la Universidad Nacional de Singapur (NUS) y de la Universidad de Tohoku (TU) de Jap\u00f3n puede haber encontrado una manera.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El equipo ha desarrollado una tecnolog\u00eda que usa unos diminutos dispositivos llamados osciladores de par de giro (STO). Los STO generan microondas, pero su baja potencia de salida y su amplio ancho de l\u00ednea han impedido su uso para recoger y convertir en energ\u00eda las se\u00f1ales de radio inal\u00e1mbricas.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Los intentos anteriores de superar esta limitaci\u00f3n han llevado a que varios STO trabajen juntos en un solo chip, pero hasta ahora estos esfuerzos han estado plagados de problemas de espaciado y respuestas de baja frecuencia.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El equipo actual ha superado estos problemas desarrollando una matriz en la que ocho OST est\u00e1n conectadas en serie. Con esta matriz, los investigadores pudieron convertir las ondas de radio electromagn\u00e9ticas de 2,4 GHz usadas por el WiFi en una se\u00f1al de tensi\u00f3n directa, que se transmiti\u00f3 a un condensador para encender un LED de 1,6 voltios. Una carga de cinco segundos del condensador permit\u00eda iluminar un LED durante un minuto despu\u00e9s de desconectar la alimentaci\u00f3n inal\u00e1mbrica.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El profesor Yang Hyunsoo, que dirigi\u00f3 el proyecto, explic\u00f3 que, dado que las se\u00f1ales WiFi est\u00e1n siempre encendidas, no usarlas para suministrar energ\u00eda es un gran desperdicio. A\u00f1adi\u00f3 que el \u00faltimo resultado del equipo \u201c<em>es un paso adelante para convertir las ondas de radio de 2,4 GHz, f\u00e1cilmente disponibles, en una fuente de energ\u00eda ecol\u00f3gica, reduciendo as\u00ed la necesidad de bater\u00edas para alimentar los aparatos electr\u00f3nicos que usamos habitualmente. De este modo, los peque\u00f1os aparatos el\u00e9ctricos y los sensores pueden alimentarse de forma inal\u00e1mbrica mediante el uso de ondas de radiofrecuencia como parte del Internet de las Cosas<\/em>\u201c.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Esta investigaci\u00f3n forma parte de una tendencia creciente a buscar formas de ahorrar energ\u00eda, aprovechando mejor las fuentes de energ\u00eda que ya son omnipresentes.
