Eso es importante para todo tipo de pacientes<!--more-->, pero lo es mucho m\u00e1s en pacientes con una situaci\u00f3n mucho m\u00e1s severa en la que este tipo de efectos pueden acabar siendo fatales.<\/p>\n<p>Para tratar de aliviar el problema un grupo de investigadores de la Universidad de Michigan han creado un microchip que en esencia simula el comportamiento de un ri\u00f1\u00f3n humano y permite que se pueda analizar el comportamiento de un medicamento.<\/p>\n<p>Las pruebas de f\u00e1rmacos podr\u00edan beneficiarse de forma notable<\/p>\n<p>Shuichi Takayama, uno de los responsables de este desarrollo, explicaba c\u00f3mo &#8220;cuando administras un medicamento, su concentraci\u00f3n crece r\u00e1pidamente y se filtra gradualmente a medida que fluye por el h\u00edgado. El &#8216;ri\u00f1\u00f3n en un chip&#8217; nos permite simular ese proceso de filtrado, proporcionando una forma mucho m\u00e1s precisa de estudiar c\u00f3mo los medicamentos se comportan en el cuerpo&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>El microchip consta de una membrana permeable de poli\u00e9ster y de una capa de c\u00e9lulas de un ri\u00f1\u00f3n cultivado que son las que permiten simular ese comportamiento. Los primeros resultados no solo indican cu\u00e1les son los efectos de los medicamentos, sino que revelan las mejores formas de administrarlos.<\/p>\n<p>Seg\u00fan Takayama este sistema podr\u00eda servir no solo para estudiar el comportamiento de los medicamentos en el ri\u00f1\u00f3n, sino tambi\u00e9n en otros \u00f3rganos como el coraz\u00f3n o el h\u00edgado, algo que podr\u00eda suponer una interesante alternativa a las pruebas m\u00e9dicas en animales y que podr\u00eda acelerar esa fase de pruebas y la salida al mercado de nuevos f\u00e1rmacos.<\/p>\n<p>Fuente: Xataca<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Cuando los m\u00e9dicos nos prescriben ciertos medicamentos saben que al hacerlo se pueden presentar algunos efectos secundarios.
