{"id":23289,"date":"2021-06-22T10:06:26","date_gmt":"2021-06-22T16:06:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/?p=23289"},"modified":"2021-06-22T10:06:34","modified_gmt":"2021-06-22T16:06:34","slug":"plastico-de-una-proteina-lactea-supera-en-resistencia-al-de-petroleo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/ciencia\/plastico-de-una-proteina-lactea-supera-en-resistencia-al-de-petroleo\/","title":{"rendered":"Pl\u00e1stico de una prote\u00edna l\u00e1ctea supera en resistencia al de petr\u00f3leo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"has-drop-cap\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Una nueva espuma pl\u00e1stica de alto rendimiento desarrollada a partir de prote\u00ednas de suero puede soportar el calor extremo mejor que muchos termopl\u00e1sticos comunes hechos de petr\u00f3leo.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Un equipo de investigaci\u00f3n de Suecia informa que el material, que puede utilizarse, por ejemplo, en catalizadores para autom\u00f3viles, filtros de combustible o espuma de embalaje, en realidad mejora su rendimiento mec\u00e1nico despu\u00e9s de d\u00edas de exposici\u00f3n a altas temperaturas.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">En un informe en Advanced Sustainable Systems, los investigadores del KTH Royal Institute of Technology en Estocolmo dicen que la investigaci\u00f3n abre la puerta al uso de materiales de espuma a base de prote\u00ednas en entornos potencialmente dif\u00edciles, como la filtraci\u00f3n, el aislamiento t\u00e9rmico y la absorci\u00f3n de fluidos.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Los componentes b\u00e1sicos del material son las nanofibrillas de prote\u00ednas, o PNF, que se autoensamblan a partir de prote\u00ednas de suero hidrolizadas, un producto del procesamiento del queso, en condiciones espec\u00edficas de temperatura y pH.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">En las pruebas, las espumas mejoraron con el envejecimiento. Despu\u00e9s de un mes de exposici\u00f3n a una temperatura de 150 \u00b0 C, el material se volvi\u00f3 m\u00e1s r\u00edgido, m\u00e1s resistente y m\u00e1s fuerte, dice en un comunicado el coautor del estudio, Mikael Hedenqvist, profesor de la Divisi\u00f3n de Materiales Polim\u00e9ricos de KTH.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cEste material solo se vuelve m\u00e1s fuerte con el tiempo\u201d, dice. \u201cSi comparamos con los materiales de espuma comerciales a base de petr\u00f3leo hechos de polietileno y poliestireno, se derriten instant\u00e1neamente y se descomponen en las mismas condiciones duras\u201d.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Las prote\u00ednas suelen ser solubles en agua, lo que plantea un desaf\u00edo al desarrollar materiales a base de prote\u00ednas. A pesar de esto, el material demostr\u00f3 ser resistente al agua despu\u00e9s del proceso de envejecimiento, que polimeriz\u00f3 la prote\u00edna, creando nuevos enlaces covalentes que estabilizaron las espumas. La espuma tambi\u00e9n resisti\u00f3 sustancias a\u00fan m\u00e1s agresivas, como tensioactivos y agentes reductores, que normalmente descomponen o disuelven las prote\u00ednas. La reticulaci\u00f3n tambi\u00e9n hizo que la espuma no se viera afectada por el combustible diesel o el aceite caliente.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El material tambi\u00e9n mostr\u00f3 una mejor resistencia al fuego que el poliuretano termoestable de uso com\u00fan. \u201cEste material biodegradable y sostenible puede ser una opci\u00f3n viable para su uso en entornos agresivos donde la resistencia al fuego es importante\u201d, dice Hedenqvist.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Las aplicaciones potenciales incluyen proporcionar soporte para metales catal\u00edticos que operan a temperaturas m\u00e1s altas, como catalizadores de platino para autom\u00f3viles.
