Un biovidrio que puede favorecer el trabajo de las c\u00e9lulas para que realicen el proceso de regeneraci\u00f3n \u00f3sea.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/nhues.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2495 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/nhues.jpg\" alt=\"nhues\" width=\"840\" height=\"480\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cEl nuevo material\u00a0favorecer el trabajo de las c\u00e9lulas, proporcion\u00e1ndoles una estructura y componentes suficientes para que realicen el proceso de\u00a0regeneraci\u00f3n. Este\u00a0presenta diversas ventajas, entre ellas, que se obtiene a menor temperatura que otros y mejora el costo-beneficio al provenir de un desecho agroindustrial\u201d, dijo Miriam Mar\u00edn Miranda, responsable de la investigaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>Por diversas causas patol\u00f3gicas o traum\u00e1ticas, como\u00a0lesiones cancerosas, se pierden secciones o huesos completos, por lo que se ha recurrido a diversos materiales para sustituirlos: met\u00e1licos, cer\u00e1micos, polim\u00e9ricos o una combinaci\u00f3n de ellos. Uno de los m\u00e1s estudiados son los biovidrios, dijo la experta.<\/p>\n<p>Adem\u00e1s, en los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os se ha dado importancia a los desechos agroindustriales para s\u00edntesis de materiales y, en muchos casos, su aplicaci\u00f3n en el \u00e1rea\u00a0biom\u00e9dica. Tal es el caso de la c\u00e1scara de arroz.<\/p>\n<p>Un sustituto de hueso ideal es aquel que posee\u00a0osteog\u00e9nesis, osteoconducci\u00f3n y osteointegraci\u00f3n, es decir, que tiene las caracter\u00edsticas necesarias para la regeneraci\u00f3n de las c\u00e9lulas \u00f3seas.<\/p>\n<p>Los biovidrios como sustitutos \u00f3seos est\u00e1n basados en el sistema\u00a0silicio-calcio-sodio-pent\u00f3xido de f\u00f3sforo. El primero fue descubierto en los a\u00f1os 60 por Larry Hench, en la Universidad de Florida, y se denomin\u00f3 Bioglass 45s5. A partir de \u00e9ste se han hecho varias modificaciones.<\/p>\n<p>Actualmente hay dos m\u00e9todos de s\u00edntesis para la obtenci\u00f3n de biovidrio: el de fusi\u00f3n, con desventajas como el empleo de mucha energ\u00eda, temperaturas de mil 500 grados durante 12 horas, y el sol-gel, que necesita mucho menos calor y permite la construcci\u00f3n de \u201candamios\u201d por medio de espumado e\u00a0impresi\u00f3n 3D.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNuestra propuesta fue utilizar un m\u00e9todo sol-gel que emplea una sustancia llamada glicerol para lograr una mezcla m\u00e1s homog\u00e9nea, producto de la\u00a0depolimerizaci\u00f3n del silicio, y una interacci\u00f3n con los dem\u00e1s componentes de la f\u00f3rmula\u201d, dijo Mar\u00edn Miranda.<\/p>\n<p>Adem\u00e1s, la investigadora revel\u00f3 que la c\u00e1scara de arroz calcinada permite obtener una gran cantidad de silicio, hasta 95%, y otros compuestos como el calcio, el sodio y el pent\u00f3xido de f\u00f3sforo, que est\u00e1n dentro de la composici\u00f3n de los biovidrios.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSi usamos el di\u00f3xido de silicio de la c\u00e1scara de arroz y s\u00f3lo completamos lo que haga falta de la f\u00f3rmula, tenemos una materia prima mucho m\u00e1s barata y aunque a\u00fan faltan pruebas mec\u00e1nicas y celulares por hacer, el material es prometedor.
