style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Un grupo de ingenieros de la Universidad de Missouri y la Universidad de Chicago, en Estados Unidos, han creado un metamaterial capaz de tomar decisiones independientes evaluando el entorno, para luego concretar una acci\u00f3n que no requiere direcci\u00f3n o supervisi\u00f3n humana. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">El material artificial usa un chip para controlar el procesamiento de la informaci\u00f3n que se necesita para realizar las acciones: luego convierte la energ\u00eda el\u00e9ctrica en energ\u00eda mec\u00e1nica para conseguir sus movimientos.<\/span><\/span><!--more--><\/span><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Materiales artificiales e inteligente<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Un\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><strong><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">metamaterial\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/strong><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"> es un material inteligente que presenta una variada gama de propiedades: los metamateriales pueden ser muy diferentes entre ellos y no existe una definici\u00f3n concreta, aunque todos tienen en com\u00fan que son de origen artificial. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Destacan por sus propiedades electromagn\u00e9ticas inusuales, que provienen de la estructura dise\u00f1ada y no de su composici\u00f3n. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Esto significa que alcanzan propiedades distintas y superiores a las de sus elementos constituyentes.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">En funci\u00f3n de estas posibilidades, poseer un gran futuro en m\u00faltiples campos y aplicaciones. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Seg\u00fan determinadas visiones, se cree que pueden llevar a cabo la ciencia ficci\u00f3n a la realidad:\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><strong><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">materiales capaces de moldearse por su cuenta<\/span><\/span><\/strong><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"> \u00a0para adaptarse a los requerimientos del contexto o que trabajan en conjunto con algoritmos y soluciones de Inteligencia Artificial son algunas de las posibles expresiones de este nuevo escenario.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Inspirados en la naturaleza<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">De acuerdo a una\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><a class=\"rank-math-link\" style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/showme.missouri.edu\/2021\/creating-an-artificial-material-that-can-sense-adapt-to-its-environment\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">nota de prensa<\/span><\/span><\/a><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"> , el metamaterial creado en el marco de la nueva investigaci\u00f3n publicada en la revista Nature Communications incorpora\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><strong><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">tres funciones principales<\/span><\/span><\/strong><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"> , \u00abinspiradas\u00bb en ciertos materiales que se encuentran en la naturaleza: capacidad de detecci\u00f3n del entorno, procesamiento inteligente de informaci\u00f3n y actuaci\u00f3n o movimiento a partir de esos est\u00edmulos.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Los ingenieros destacaron que uno de los ejemplos de estos materiales naturales tomados como inspiraci\u00f3n para desarrollar el nuevo metamaterial lo ofrece\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><strong><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">la planta carn\u00edvora Venus atrapamoscas<\/span><\/span><\/strong><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"> \u00a0(Dionaea muscipula): la misma presenta frondosas mand\u00edbulas que utiliza de forma \u00abinteligente\u00bb para capturar un insecto. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Detecta su presencia en funci\u00f3n de determinados datos que reciben del ambiente y de su propia \u00abmemoria\u00bb, que le permite elegir adecuadamente sus presas cuando otros nutrientes escasean.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">En el mismo sentido, los ingenieros tambi\u00e9n \u00abcopiaron\u00bb caracter\u00edsticas de los\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><strong><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">camaleones<\/span><\/span><\/strong><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"> , reptiles que cambian el color de su piel para mezclarse con su entorno y evitar posibles amenazas. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Adem\u00e1s, estudiaron a las\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><strong><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">pi\u00f1as<\/span><\/span><\/strong><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"> , que son plantas que ajustan sus formas en respuesta a los cambios en la humedad del aire. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Todas estas propiedades de los materiales naturales pudieron integrarse en el nuevo metamaterial.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">En el aire y en el espacio<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">De esta forma, si por ejemplo el\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><strong><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">material artificial\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/strong><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"> se incorporara a un dron que debe cumplir una tarea espec\u00edfica, la peque\u00f1a nave aut\u00f3noma ser\u00eda capaz de identificar el entorno sobre el cual est\u00e1 volando, conocer la flora y la fauna del sector que atraviesa o saber en qu\u00e9 direcci\u00f3n est\u00e1 soplando el viento. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">A partir de esos par\u00e1metros, podr\u00eda modificar la orientaci\u00f3n de su viaje y realizar su misi\u00f3n con \u00e9xito, sin requerir la intervenci\u00f3n de un operador humano.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Un\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><a class=\"rank-math-link\" style=\"color: #000000;\" cambios en los est\u00edmulos externos que se encuentran en su entorno puede ser tambi\u00e9n muy \u00fatil en la <\/span><\/span><strong><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">\u00a0industria aeroespacial<\/span><\/span><\/strong><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"> . <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Al unirlo a estructuras aeroespaciales, podr\u00eda ayudar a controlar y disminuir los ruidos provenientes de las aeronaves, como por ejemplo las vibraciones del motor, incrementando notablemente sus capacidades multifuncionales.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Teniendo en cuenta que el siguiente paso de los investigadores es implementar su idea en un entorno del mundo real, se trata sin dudas de una alternativa muy prometedora y con variadas aplicaciones. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Pensando en las misiones espaciales que se esperan para los pr\u00f3ximos a\u00f1os, es f\u00e1cil pensar que podr\u00eda integrarse a los\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><strong><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">rovers y otros veh\u00edculos de reconocimiento<\/span><\/span><\/strong><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"> , aumentar en forma considerable su versatilidad y habilidades.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align:
