{"id":25351,"date":"2021-11-22T09:26:57","date_gmt":"2021-11-22T15:26:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/?p=25351"},"modified":"2021-11-22T09:26:57","modified_gmt":"2021-11-22T15:26:57","slug":"un-futuro-de-hierro-para-los-paneles-solares-nuevos-avances-en-celulas-solares-de-gratzel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/energias-alternas\/un-futuro-de-hierro-para-los-paneles-solares-nuevos-avances-en-celulas-solares-de-gratzel\/","title":{"rendered":"Un futuro de hierro para los paneles solares, nuevos avances en c\u00e9lulas solares de Gr\u00e4tzel"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Investigadores de la Universidad de Basilea han mejorado el rendimiento de los \u00absensibilizadores de hierro\u00bb usando un poco de vinagre y grasa.<!--more--><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Reducir los costes de la energ\u00eda fotovoltaica ha sido siempre el objetivo de quienes han investigado y optimizado las llamadas\u00a0<a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/ecoinventos.com\/como-hacer-una-celda-solar-casera-gratzel\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">c\u00e9lulas Gr\u00e4tzel<\/a>\u00a0o c\u00e9lulas solares de sensibilizaci\u00f3n org\u00e1nica (DSSC).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Esta tecnolog\u00eda a\u00fan est\u00e1 inmadura, pero no faltan los primeros intentos de industrializaci\u00f3n y comercializaci\u00f3n. El \u00faltimo avance en este campo procede de la Universidad de Basilea (Suiza), donde un equipo de cient\u00edficos ha desarrollado un nuevo \u00abfotovoltaico de hierro\u00bb. Pero para entender la novedad, es necesario dar unos pasos atr\u00e1s.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">C\u00e9lulas Gratzel: \u00bfc\u00f3mo funcionan?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Las c\u00e9lulas Gratzel se basan en el uso de semiconductores inorg\u00e1nicos -generalmente TiO2- y colorantes (o sensibilizadores) que conforman el material fotoactivo.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Estas \u00faltimas pueden estar compuestas por mol\u00e9culas org\u00e1nicas o sint\u00e9ticas metalo-org\u00e1nicas. La elecci\u00f3n suele basarse en su capacidad de proporcionar una amplia absorci\u00f3n del espectro solar y de mantener un estado de excitaci\u00f3n prolongado para la transferencia de carga al semiconductor. Los complejos a base de rutenio son actualmente la mejor opci\u00f3n, ya que cumplen estos requisitos y ofrecen eficiencias de fotoconversi\u00f3n de alrededor del 12%. Sin embargo, el rutenio es un metal escaso y caro, lo que socava el objetivo principal para el que se crearon las c\u00e9lulas solares DSCC.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Aqu\u00ed es donde entra la fotovoltaica de hierro. Durante mucho tiempo, los expertos creyeron que los compuestos de hierro eran inadecuados para estas aplicaciones porque su estado de excitaci\u00f3n, como resultado de la absorci\u00f3n de la luz, era demasiado corto para ser utilizado con fines energ\u00e9ticos. Esto cambi\u00f3 hace unos siete a\u00f1os con el descubrimiento de una nueva clase de compuestos de hierro conocidos como N-carbenos heteroc\u00edclicos (NHC).<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">El hierro fotovoltaico.<\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">El equipo de investigaci\u00f3n suizo, dirigido por la Dra. Mariia Becker, utiliz\u00f3 los NHC para crear un nuevo sensibilizador.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\"><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Sab\u00edamos que ten\u00edamos que desarrollar materiales que se adhirieran a la superficie del semiconductor y cuyo car\u00e1cter permitiera al mismo tiempo optimizar la disposici\u00f3n de los componentes funcionales para la absorci\u00f3n de la luz.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><cite>Dra. Mariia Becker.<\/cite><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Para lograrlo, los qu\u00edmicos utilizaron un enfoque doble: primero, incorporaron grupos de \u00e1cido carbox\u00edlico (como los que se encuentran en el vinagre) al compuesto de hierro para fijarlo a la superficie del semiconductor. Despu\u00e9s, hicieron los compuestos \u00abgrasos\u00bb a\u00f1adiendo largas cadenas de carbono para conseguir una capa superficial m\u00e1s suave y f\u00e1cil de anclar.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Estos prototipos de c\u00e9lulas solares alcanzaron una eficiencia global de tan s\u00f3lo el 1%, frente al 20% que ofrecen los dispositivos fotovoltaicos del mercado actual. \u00abSin embargo -afirma Becker con convicci\u00f3n-, los resultados representan un hito que animar\u00e1 a seguir investigando en estos nuevos materiales\u00bb.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Fuente:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">R.
