{"id":2637,"date":"2016-06-16T17:08:18","date_gmt":"2016-06-16T23:08:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/?p=2637"},"modified":"2016-06-16T17:08:18","modified_gmt":"2016-06-16T23:08:18","slug":"chip-adn","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/ciencia\/chip-adn\/","title":{"rendered":"Este chip detecta mutaciones en el ADN"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Cient\u00edficos de la Universidad de California en San Diego han desarrollado un\u00a0chip de grafeno\u00a0capaz de detectar mutaciones en el\u00a0ADN. <!--more-->Tecnolog\u00eda que podr\u00eda ser usada en diversas aplicaciones m\u00e9dicas, tales como pruebas de sangre para la detecci\u00f3n temprana del c\u00e1ncer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEstamos en la vanguardia del desarrollo de un m\u00e9todo digital r\u00e1pido y de bajo costo para detectar\u00a0mutaciones gen\u00e9ticas\u00a0en alta resoluci\u00f3n, a la escala de un \u00fanico cambio de nucle\u00f3tido en una secuencia de \u00e1cido nucleico\u201d, dice Ratnesh Lal, responsable de la investigaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>La tecnolog\u00eda es\u00a0una nueva t\u00e9cnica para detectar la mutaci\u00f3n gen\u00e9tica m\u00e1s com\u00fan, elpolimorfismo\u00a0de un solo nucle\u00f3tido (SNP), que es una variaci\u00f3n de una sola base de nucle\u00f3tido (A, C, G o T) en la secuencia de ADN.<\/p>\n<p>La mayor\u00eda de los SNPs no tienen ning\u00fan efecto discernible sobre la salud, algunos est\u00e1n asociados a condiciones patol\u00f3gicas como\u00a0el c\u00e1ncer,\u00a0la diabetes, las enfermedades del coraz\u00f3n, las enfermedades neurodegenerativas, o las enfermedades autoinmunes e inflamatorias.<\/p>\n<p>Los m\u00e9todos actuales de detecci\u00f3n de SNP son relativamente lentos, caros y requieren el uso de equipo especializado. \u201cEstamos desarrollando una manera r\u00e1pida, f\u00e1cil, barata y port\u00e1til para detectar SNPs utilizando un peque\u00f1o chip que puede funcionar con su tel\u00e9fono m\u00f3vil\u201d, dice Preston Landon, co-autor.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/Sin-ti\u0301tulo.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2638 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/Sin-ti\u0301tulo.png\" alt=\"Sin-ti\u0301tulo\" width=\"700\" height=\"206\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>El chip consiste en una sonda de ADN incorporada en un transistor de efecto campo de grafeno. La\u00a0sonda de ADN\u00a0es una pieza de ingenier\u00eda de ADN de doble cadena que contiene una secuencia que codifica un tipo espec\u00edfico de SNP. El chip est\u00e1 espec\u00edficamente dise\u00f1ado y fabricado para capturar ADN (o ARN) mol\u00e9culas con una \u00fanica mutaci\u00f3n de nucle\u00f3tidos: siempre que estas piezas de ADN (o ARN) se unen a la sonda, se produce una se\u00f1al el\u00e9ctrica.<\/p>\n<p>Los investigadores se\u00f1alan que una caracter\u00edstica novedosa de su chip es que la sonda de ADN se une a un\u00a0transistor de grafeno, que permite al chip funcionar electr\u00f3nicamente.\u00a0As\u00ed mismo el uso de una sonda de ADN de doble cadena es otra mejora sobre otros m\u00e9todos de detecci\u00f3n de SNP, que t\u00edpicamente utilizan sondas de ADN de cadena sencilla.<\/p>\n<p>La ventaja de una sonda de ADN de cadena doble es que la sonda puede ser m\u00e1s larga, lo que permite que el chip detecte SNPs en tramos m\u00e1s largos de ADN. En el estudio, se logro la detecci\u00f3n de SNP con una sonda de\u00a047 nucle\u00f3tidos\u00a0de longitud: la sonda de ADN m\u00e1s larga que se ha utilizado en la detecci\u00f3n de SNP hasta ahora, refieren los cient\u00edficos.<\/p>\n<p>Ahora, en los siguientes pasos los investigadores pretenden ampliar la tecnolog\u00eda con la adici\u00f3n de\u00a0capacidad inal\u00e1mbrica al chip. Tambi\u00e9n prev\u00e9n que la tecnolog\u00eda pueda conducir a una nueva generaci\u00f3n de m\u00e9todos diagn\u00f3sticos y tratamientos personalizados en
