La t\u00e9cnica consiste en combinar unas gotas de saliva con anticuerpos fluorescentes contra el virus. Luego, la muestra de saliva se pasa a trav\u00e9s de un canal de microfluidos, donde un l\u00e1ser ilumina los anticuerpos fluorescentes unidos y un detector \u00f3ptico eval\u00faa r\u00e1pidamente si el virus est\u00e1 presente.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">En este sentido, la nueva prueba combina la velocidad de las pruebas de ant\u00edgenos con la precisi\u00f3n de la PCR. La prueba, que los investigadores han descrito como un vir\u00f3metro de flujo, no requiere un hisopo nasal inc\u00f3modo y funcionar\u00e1 con solo dos gotas de saliva.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cEl dispositivo utiliza un par de gotas de saliva y marcadores de luz fluorescente. Cuando se recoge saliva de la saliva de la boca de un paciente, la introducimos en una soluci\u00f3n que contiene anticuerpos fluorescentes. Si la saliva contiene alguna presencia de part\u00edculas virales, los anticuerpos fluorescentes se unir\u00e1n al virus\u201d, ha declarado Rubaiya Hussain, investigadora involucrada en el estudio.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>Los investigadores han probado la tecnolog\u00eda con 50 pacientes y han demostrado que tiene una especificidad del 90% y una sensibilidad del 91%, similar a la PCR<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cEl lector recoge la muestra y la env\u00eda a un canal de microfluidos que pasar\u00e1 a trav\u00e9s de una configuraci\u00f3n de detecci\u00f3n de iluminaci\u00f3n l\u00e1ser. El l\u00e1ser ilumina la muestra y, si hay presencia de part\u00edculas virales, emitir\u00e1n una mejora \u00fanica de la se\u00f1al de fluorescencia. En menos de 1 minuto, la lectura se traduce en picos en nuestro gr\u00e1fico y alerta al sistema de que la muestra es positiva\u201d, ha a\u00f1adido.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Hasta el momento, los investigadores han probado la tecnolog\u00eda con 50 pacientes y han demostrado que tiene una especificidad del 90% y una sensibilidad del 91%, similar a la PCR. Sin embargo, la prueba es m\u00e1s r\u00e1pida y f\u00e1cil de realizar que la PCR.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Adem\u00e1s, la tecnolog\u00eda puede ser \u00fatil para otros pat\u00f3genos. \u201cNuestro dispositivo es muy vers\u00e1til.
