Esta tecnolog\u00eda podr\u00eda utilizarse para tratar quemaduras, escaras o lesiones\u00a0producidas, por ejemplo, por la diabetes.<\/p>\n<p>La\u00a0piel\u00a0es el mayor \u00f3rgano del cuerpo humano ocupa aproximadamente 2 metros cuadrados, y su espesor var\u00eda entre los 0,5 mm (en los p\u00e1rpados) y los 4 mm (en el tal\u00f3n). Su peso aproximado es de 5 kg. Act\u00faa como barrera protectora que a\u00edsla al organismo del medio que lo rodea, protegi\u00e9ndolo y contribuyendo a mantener \u00edntegras sus estructuras, al tiempo que act\u00faa como sistema de comunicaci\u00f3n con el entorno.<\/p>\n<p>Actualmente para reparar tejidos da\u00f1ados los m\u00e9dicos deben recurrir a t\u00e9cnicas de\u00a0trasplantes, provenientes del propio paciente, de un donante o de animales. Pero en estos dos \u00faltimos casos puede haber rechazo inmunol\u00f3gico por incompatibilidad.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSi la herida es peque\u00f1a, la piel se repara por s\u00ed misma. Pero si la lesi\u00f3n tiene m\u00e1s de cinco cent\u00edmetros de di\u00e1metro, el cuerpo encuentra dificultades para rellenar un hueco tan grande. Para esos casos, hace algunos a\u00f1os se pens\u00f3 en la posibilidad de imprimir piel recurriendo abioimpresoras 3D\u00a0con el fin de fabricar parches que se adapten en forma exacta a la lesi\u00f3n que se intenta curar\u201d, explic\u00f3 Elida Hermida, responsable de la investigaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>Llamada 3-Donor, la impresora permite\u00a0imprimir hidrogeles\u00a0en tres dimensiones mediante un software dise\u00f1ado espec\u00edficamente. Lo novedoso no es la parte mec\u00e1nica, sino el software, que queremos seguir mejorando. Estamos convencidos de que, en un futuro, podr\u00e1n imprimirse \u00f3rganos con este tipo de equipos, refieren los desarrolladores.<\/p>\n<p>La impresora ya ha sido probada durante un per\u00edodo de dos a\u00f1os en la Universidad Nacional de C\u00f3rdoba y obtuvo el primer premio de la competencia BIOTEC+75K, realizada en la UNSAM en 2015.<\/p>\n<p>Sin duda un gran avance que se
