Construida por la empresa Cray Inc. en los laboratorios del Oak Ridge National Laboratory en Tennessee, <!--more-->Estados Unidos, el ordenador acaba de romper una marca al superar un desempe\u00f1o de\u00a0<b>1,102 exaflops por segundo<\/b>\u00a0en una prueba que se realiza para determinar cu\u00e1l es la m\u00e1quina con mayor capacidad de procesamiento del planeta. La supercomputadora posee 8,730,112 n\u00facleos de procesamiento que corren a 2 GHz y es capaz de resolver operaciones a una velocidad cinco veces superior que las computadoras m\u00e1s r\u00e1pidas que exist\u00edan hasta ahora.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Para que te des una idea, Frontier puede realizar 1.000.000.000.000.000.000 de operaciones en un segundo (o 10 a la 18 potencia) lo que la ubica en el primer puesto del la lista\u00a0<a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.top500.org\/lists\/top500\/2022\/06\/\" rel=\"follow\">TOP500<\/a>\u00a0que rankea a las grandes computadoras del planeta.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Pero m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de los aspectos t\u00e9cnicos y r\u00e9cords, lo importante es lo que Frontier representa y las oportuniades que le da a los cient\u00edficos de seguir explorando y comprendiendo el universo que nos rodea.
