Este dolor repercute negativamente en la calidad de vida y muchos de los analg\u00e9sicos m\u00e1s utilizados producen efectos secundarios.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Los f\u00e1rmacos opi\u00e1ceos, como la morfina y la oxicodona, pueden provocar adicci\u00f3n y son peligrosos en caso de sobredosis. Por tanto, existe una necesidad insatisfecha de nuevos y potentes f\u00e1rmacos analg\u00e9sicos.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Muchos f\u00e1rmacos act\u00faan a trav\u00e9s de prote\u00ednas en la superficie de las c\u00e9lulas que activan mol\u00e9culas adaptadoras llamadas prote\u00ednas G. La activaci\u00f3n de las prote\u00ednas G puede provocar muchos efectos celulares. El BnOCPA es \u00fanico porque s\u00f3lo activa un tipo de prote\u00edna G, lo que da lugar a efectos muy selectivos y reduce as\u00ed los posibles efectos secundarios.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00abLa selectividad y la potencia del BnOCPA se deben a su capacidad para activar las prote\u00ednas G: \u00abLa selectividad y la potencia del BnOCPA lo hacen realmente \u00fanico y esperamos que con nuevas investigaciones sea posible generar analg\u00e9sicos potentes que ayuden a los pacientes a hacer frente al dolor cr\u00f3nico\u00bb, detalla Mark Wall, uno de los l\u00edderes del trabajo.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00abEste es un ejemplo fant\u00e1stico de la serendipia en la ciencia. No esper\u00e1bamos que el BnOCPA se comportara de forma diferente a otras mol\u00e9culas de su clase, pero cuanto m\u00e1s estudiamos el BnOCPA descubrimos propiedades nunca vistas antes, que pueden abrir nuevas \u00e1reas de la qu\u00edmica medicinal\u00bb, a\u00f1ade al respecto otro de los autores, Bruno Frenguelli.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color:
