Esos restos, arrojados al espacio, fueron agrup\u00e1ndose y fusion\u00e1ndose en \u00f3rbita por efecto de la gravedad, durante meses o a\u00f1os.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Una nueva reconstrucci\u00f3n digital de lo que pudo ocurrir plantea una teor\u00eda diferente: Si las cosas sucedieron tal como indican los nuevos c\u00e1lculos, la Luna pudo formarse inmediatamente, en cuesti\u00f3n de horas, cuando el material de la Tierra y el de Theia fueron lanzados directamente a la \u00f3rbita tras el impacto.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">El estudio en el que se ha hecho esa simulaci\u00f3n es obra del equipo de Jacob Kegerreis, del Centro Ames de Investigaci\u00f3n de la NASA.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"RichTextAlignCenter citewrapper\" style=\"color: #000000;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"RichTextAlignCenter\" src=\"https:\/\/noticiasdelaciencia.com\/upload\/images\/10_2022\/3227_la-luna-se-formo-en-horas.jpg\" alt=\"[Img #67124]\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Recreaci\u00f3n art\u00edstica de la Tierra poco despu\u00e9s de la colisi\u00f3n con Theia. (Imagen: NASA&#8217;s Ames Research Center)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Las teor\u00edas predominantes hasta ahora pod\u00edan explicar bastante bien algunos aspectos de las propiedades de la Luna, como su masa y su \u00f3rbita, pero con algunas salvedades importantes. Uno de los misterios m\u00e1s destacados es por qu\u00e9 la composici\u00f3n de la Luna es tan similar a la de la Tierra.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Se puede estudiar la composici\u00f3n de un material bas\u00e1ndose en su firma isot\u00f3pica, una pista qu\u00edmica sobre c\u00f3mo y d\u00f3nde se cre\u00f3 un astro. Las muestras lunares que los cient\u00edficos han podido estudiar en los laboratorios muestran firmas isot\u00f3picas muy similares a las de las rocas de la Tierra, a diferencia de las firmas de las rocas de Marte o de otros lugares del sistema solar. Esto hace probable que gran parte del material que compone la Luna provenga de la Tierra.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">En los escenarios propuestos por las teor\u00edas anteriores, en los que Theia se pulveriz\u00f3 en la \u00f3rbita y se mezcl\u00f3 con solo un poco de material de la Tierra, es menos probable ver similitudes tan fuertes, a menos que Theia tambi\u00e9n fuera isot\u00f3picamente similar a la Tierra, una coincidencia poco probable.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">En la nueva teor\u00eda, se utiliza m\u00e1s material de la Tierra para crear la Luna, especialmente sus capas exteriores, lo que podr\u00eda ayudar a explicar esta similitud en la composici\u00f3n.
