Al designarlo como &#8220;avanzado&#8221;, la Academia lo distingue de la <a class=\"Link\" style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/List_of_energy_storage_power_plants\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-cms-ai=\"0\">Planta McIntosh<\/a>\u00a0que ha estado en funcionamiento desde 1991 en Alabama, una instalaci\u00f3n CAES de 110 MW que quema el aire almacenado con gas natural para recuperar energ\u00eda y, por lo tanto, no es una energ\u00eda verde. soluci\u00f3n de almacenamiento.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">La nueva planta de Zhangjiakou elimina los combustibles f\u00f3siles, utilizando avances en almacenamiento t\u00e9rmico supercr\u00edtico, intercambio de calor supercr\u00edtico, compresi\u00f3n de alta carga y tecnolog\u00edas de expansi\u00f3n para aumentar la eficiencia del sistema.\u00a0Seg\u00fan\u00a0<i><a class=\"Link\" style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"http:\/\/en.cnesa.org\/new-blog\/2021\/6\/1\/the-thermal-energy-storage-subsystem-of-the-worlds-first-100mw-compressed-air-energy-storage-demonstration-project-began-to-install#\/information\/inforDetail\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-cms-ai=\"0\">China Energy Storage Alliance<\/a><\/i> , la nueva planta puede almacenar y liberar hasta 400 MWh, con una eficiencia de dise\u00f1o del sistema del 70,4%.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Eso es enorme;\u00a0los sistemas de aire comprimido actuales tienen solo alrededor de un 40-52 % de eficiencia, e incluso las\u00a0<a class=\"Link\" style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/newatlas.com\/energy\/hydrostor-compressed-air-energy-storage\/?itm_source=newatlas&amp;itm_medium=article-body\" data-cms-ai=\"0\">dos plantas m\u00e1s grandes de Hydrostor CAES programadas para abrir en California en 2026<\/a>\u00a0solo tienen una eficiencia de alrededor del 60 %.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">La Academia de Ciencias de China dice que la planta de Zhangjiakou es capaz de suministrar a la red local m\u00e1s de 132 GWh de electricidad al a\u00f1o, asumiendo el consumo m\u00e1ximo de unos 40-60 000 hogares.\u00a0Evitar\u00e1 que alrededor de 42 000 toneladas de carb\u00f3n se quemen en las centrales el\u00e9ctricas y reducir\u00e1 las emisiones anuales de di\u00f3xido de carbono en alrededor de 109 000 toneladas, el equivalente a sacar\u00a0<a class=\"Link\" style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.epa.gov\/greenvehicles\/greenhouse-gas-emissions-typical-passenger-vehicle\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-cms-ai=\"0\">de circulaci\u00f3n alrededor de 23 700 autom\u00f3viles estadounidenses promedio<\/a>\u00a0.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">La Academia dice que los bajos costos de capital, la larga vida \u00fatil, la seguridad y la eficiencia de este dise\u00f1o, junto con sus credenciales ecol\u00f3gicas, lo posicionan bien como &#8220;una de las tecnolog\u00edas m\u00e1s prometedoras para el almacenamiento de energ\u00eda a gran escala&#8221;.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Fuente:<\/p>\n<p>Blain, L.
