{"id":2821,"date":"2016-07-13T10:48:17","date_gmt":"2016-07-13T16:48:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/?p=2821"},"modified":"2016-07-13T10:48:17","modified_gmt":"2016-07-13T16:48:17","slug":"electrica-cancer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/ciencia\/electrica-cancer\/","title":{"rendered":"\u00bfHacia una nueva terapia el\u00e9ctrica contra el c\u00e1ncer?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Unos investigadores han desarrollado un nuevo dispositivo microflu\u00eddico que comprueba los efectos de los campos el\u00e9ctricos en las c\u00e9lulas cancerosas.<!--more--> Y ya han observado que los campos el\u00e9ctricos con valores comprendidos entre un m\u00e1ximo y un m\u00ednimo muy concretos, de baja intensidad y frecuencias medias, detiene de forma efectiva el crecimiento y propagaci\u00f3n de c\u00e9lulas cancerosas de pulm\u00f3n y mama, sin producir efectos adversos en las c\u00e9lulas sanas circundantes, al menos en los experimentos realizados.<\/p>\n<p>El aparato, del tama\u00f1o de una moneda de un d\u00f3lar estadounidense, est\u00e1 dise\u00f1ado para ayudar a los cient\u00edficos a concretar los intervalos seguros de valores de los campos el\u00e9ctricos para tratar de forma no invasiva c\u00e1ncer de pulm\u00f3n, de mama y de otros tipos.<\/p>\n<p>El equipo de Andrea Pavesi y Giulia Adriani, de la Alianza Singapur-MIT para la Investigaci\u00f3n y la Tecnolog\u00eda (SMART), espera que este dispositivo ayude de manera decisiva a los investigadores que est\u00e1n explorando el efecto de los campos el\u00e9ctricos en diferentes tipos de c\u00e1ncer. En el reciente estudio, los investigadores comprobaron que el efecto quedaba limitado a la c\u00e9lula cancerosa en las frecuencias e intensidades ensayadas, pero necesitan explorar otras c\u00e9lulas y par\u00e1metros.<\/p>\n<p>Durante el \u00faltimo decenio, diversos equipos de cient\u00edficos han estado experimentando con el uso de campos el\u00e9ctricos para tratar c\u00e9lulas malignas, una estrategia alternativa de tratamiento contra el c\u00e1ncer llamada TTF (por las siglas de Tumor Treating Field). La terapia deriva de la interacci\u00f3n entre estructuras celulares clave en los tumores y un campo el\u00e9ctrico externo.<\/p>\n<p>En general, un campo el\u00e9ctrico es un campo de fuerzas que act\u00faan sobre objetos que poseen una carga el\u00e9ctrica. Un campo el\u00e9ctrico puede tambi\u00e9n influir en la alineaci\u00f3n de mol\u00e9culas polares, como los microt\u00fabulos, en las c\u00e9lulas tumorales. Normalmente, estas mol\u00e9culas son cruciales para la divisi\u00f3n celular que, cuando se desboca, lleva al crecimiento del tumor. Cuando los microt\u00fabulos se alinean de extremo a extremo para formar un huso mit\u00f3tico, el material gen\u00e9tico de la c\u00e9lula se une a las fibras del huso, tirando y dividiendo la
