{"id":28380,"date":"2023-01-26T09:48:29","date_gmt":"2023-01-26T15:48:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/?p=28380"},"modified":"2023-01-26T09:48:29","modified_gmt":"2023-01-26T15:48:29","slug":"nanoparticulas-de-oro-para-diagnosticar-una-patologia-ocular-asociada-al-mal-uso-de-lentillas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/nanotecnologia\/nanoparticulas-de-oro-para-diagnosticar-una-patologia-ocular-asociada-al-mal-uso-de-lentillas\/","title":{"rendered":"Nanopart\u00edculas de oro para diagnosticar una patolog\u00eda ocular asociada al mal uso de lentillas"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"clearfix text-formatted field field--name-body field--type-text-with-summary field--label-hidden field__item\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Un proyecto internacional liderado por el grupo de investigaci\u00f3n Ocupharm Research Group de la\u00a0<a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ucm.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Universidad Complutense de Madrid<\/a>\u00a0(UCM) ha desarrollado un m\u00e9todo de detecci\u00f3n basado en nanopart\u00edculas de oro capaz de detectar de manera r\u00e1pida y eficaz la presencia de Acanthamoeba castellanii, un protozoo causante de queratitis, una patolog\u00eda ocular asociada al mal uso de lentes de contacto.<!--more--><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201cEn el campo de la salud visual, es la primera vez que se usan las nanopart\u00edculas de oro para la detecci\u00f3n de un pat\u00f3geno relacionado con patolog\u00eda ocular\u201d, se\u00f1ala Cristina Pastrana, investigadora del Ocupharm Research Group de la UCM.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">La queratitis por Acanthamoeba es una inflamaci\u00f3n de la c\u00f3rnea que cursa con dolor, fotofobia y a nivel cl\u00ednico se pueden observar signos como infiltrados corneales. El principal factor de riesgo asociado a esta patolog\u00eda es el uso de las lentes de contacto principalmente debido a un mal uso y a las malas condiciones de limpieza.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201cEs una patolog\u00eda agresiva que si no se trata de manera r\u00e1pida y correcta puede provocar la p\u00e9rdida completa de la visi\u00f3n, por lo que un diagn\u00f3stico correcto y r\u00e1pido es esencial para el tratamiento\u201d, indica la \u00f3ptico-optometrista de la UCM.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Resultado en 20 minutos sin salir del estuche<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Para llevar a cabo el estudio, publicado en\u00a0<a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mdpi.com\/journal\/ijms\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">International Journal of Molecular Science<\/a>, los experimentos de detecci\u00f3n con nanopart\u00edculas de oro se han realizado de manera in vitro durante un a\u00f1o en laboratorios de la Facultad de \u00d3ptica y Optometr\u00eda de la UCM y del\u00a0<a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/inl.int\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory<\/a>\u00a0(INL) en Braga, Portugal.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Los m\u00e9todos actuales para el diagn\u00f3stico de la queratitis requieren de la toma de muestra y su posterior env\u00edo a un laboratorio para la realizaci\u00f3n de cultivos o para la detecci\u00f3n mediante PCR. Por tanto, se necesita material y personal cualificado que no siempre son accesibles y que puede demorar el diagn\u00f3stico y el pron\u00f3stico de la patolog\u00eda.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201cEste trabajo aporta un nuevo enfoque y detecta la presencia del pat\u00f3geno mediante un cambio de color visible y en un tiempo en torno a los 20 minutos\u201d, destaca Pastrana.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">La experta a\u00f1ade que el dispositivo que se desarrolle a partir de este hallazgo podr\u00eda ser utilizado por los propios usuarios de lentes de contacto para la detecci\u00f3n temprana del pat\u00f3geno en el estuche de las lentes.<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Referencia bibliogr\u00e1fica:\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Pastrana, C.; Guerreiro, J.R.L.; Elumalai, M.; Carpena-Torres, C.; Crooke, A.; Carracedo, G.; Prado, M.; Huete-Toral, F.
