{"id":28444,"date":"2023-02-16T09:46:33","date_gmt":"2023-02-16T15:46:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/?p=28444"},"modified":"2023-02-16T09:46:33","modified_gmt":"2023-02-16T15:46:33","slug":"nuevo-material-que-podria-servir-para-fabricar-baterias-sin-depender-del-litio","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/energias-alternas\/nuevo-material-que-podria-servir-para-fabricar-baterias-sin-depender-del-litio\/","title":{"rendered":"Nuevo material que podr\u00eda servir para fabricar bater\u00edas sin depender del litio"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"has-drop-cap\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Unos cient\u00edficos han desarrollado un nuevo material cer\u00e1mico con propiedades el\u00e9ctricas mejoradas que podr\u00eda servir de base para la futura fabricaci\u00f3n de bater\u00edas sin dependencia del litio.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El logro es obra de un equipo del Instituto de \u00d3ptica (dependiente del Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Cient\u00edficas (CSIC)) y de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM), en Espa\u00f1a todas estas entidades.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El nuevo desarrollo, que ha sido detallado por sus autores en la revista acad\u00e9mica Materials &amp; Design, se ha alcanzado gracias al tratamiento de cer\u00e1micas deficientes en ox\u00edgeno con un l\u00e1ser ultrarr\u00e1pido. La conductividad el\u00e9ctrica del material sintetizado aumenta en m\u00e1s de ocho \u00f3rdenes de magnitud con este tratamiento l\u00e1ser.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Los investigadores han conseguido producir capas de \u00f3xido de niobio con propiedades el\u00e9ctricas optimizadas mediante un proceso de fusi\u00f3n y recristalizaci\u00f3n del material en forma de polvo utilizando el calor generado por el l\u00e1ser ultrarr\u00e1pido.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cGracias al uso del l\u00e1ser hemos logrado controlar la formaci\u00f3n del material cer\u00e1mico mejor que si se formara en un horno, optimizando las condiciones para producir capas uniformes de cristales con la orientaci\u00f3n ideal para favorecer la conductividad el\u00e9ctrica del material. Todo en pocos segundos, en aire y con poco consumo de energ\u00eda, lo que lo hace extremadamente interesante para aplicaciones como el dise\u00f1o de nuevas bater\u00edas o sistemas de detecci\u00f3n\u201d, explica Javier Sol\u00eds, investigador del CSIC en el Instituto de \u00d3ptica (IO).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>El \u00f3xido de niobio como alternativa<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Las propiedades de diferentes formas cristalinas del \u00f3xido de niobio para dispositivos de almacenamiento de energ\u00eda ofrecen altas densidades de potencia sin comprometer la seguridad y la durabilidad del dispositivo, aunque este se caliente.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cEstos \u00f3xidos pueden utilizar iones m\u00e1s grandes que los del litio (es decir, sodio y potasio), por lo que son excelentes candidatos para el dise\u00f1o de dispositivos de almacenamiento de energ\u00eda m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de las bater\u00edas de iones de litio empleadas actualmente, basadas en el uso de compuestos de este metal como electrodos\u201d, indica Bel\u00e9n Sotillo, investigadora de la UCM.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sin embargo, el \u00f3xido de niobio tiene dos problemas que hasta ahora hab\u00edan impedido su utilizaci\u00f3n en la industria: su baja conductividad el\u00e9ctrica, que dificulta la recolecci\u00f3n de la carga en las bater\u00edas, y sus caracter\u00edsticas de absorci\u00f3n de la luz, que le impiden trabajar con la luz visible, lo que dificulta su uso en fotodetectores.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A juzgar por los resultados del nuevo estudio, m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de su potencial uso en bater\u00edas, el material que se ha sintetizado tambi\u00e9n podr\u00eda llegar a emplearse en sistemas de fotocat\u00e1lisis, basados en la absorci\u00f3n de luz visible, as\u00ed como en sensores, gracias a su estabilidad qu\u00edmica y
