El chip podr\u00eda permitir la fabricaci\u00f3n dispositivos que funcionen mejor, requieran menos hardware y tengan un menor coste.<!--more--><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Imagine que usted utiliza una aplicaci\u00f3n de banca electr\u00f3nica para ingresar dinero en su cuenta. Igual que ocurre con cualquier informaci\u00f3n que se env\u00eda por internet, las comunicaciones podr\u00edan verse corrompidas por \u201cruido\u201d que introduce errores en los datos.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Para superar este problema, los sistemas de los remitentes codifican los datos antes de transmitirlos, y luego un receptor utiliza un algoritmo de descodificaci\u00f3n para corregir los errores y recuperar el mensaje original. En algunos casos, los datos se reciben con informaci\u00f3n de fiabilidad que ayuda al dispositivo descodificador a averiguar qu\u00e9 partes de una transmisi\u00f3n son errores probables.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">El nuevo chip, desarrollado por el equipo de Muriel M\u00e9dard, del Instituto Tecnol\u00f3gico de Massachusetts (MIT) en Estados Unidos, emplea un nuevo modelo estad\u00edstico para utilizar esta informaci\u00f3n de fiabilidad de una forma mucho m\u00e1s sencilla y r\u00e1pida que las t\u00e9cnicas convencionales.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Su chip, denominado ORBGRAND, utiliza un algoritmo de descodificaci\u00f3n universal que el equipo desarroll\u00f3 previamente y que puede descifrar cualquier c\u00f3digo de correcci\u00f3n de errores. Normalmente, el hardware de descodificaci\u00f3n solo puede procesar un tipo concreto de c\u00f3digo.
