{"id":2880,"date":"2016-07-21T13:45:19","date_gmt":"2016-07-21T19:45:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/?p=2880"},"modified":"2016-07-21T13:45:19","modified_gmt":"2016-07-21T19:45:19","slug":"metadatos-alzheimer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/tech\/metadatos-alzheimer\/","title":{"rendered":"Metadatos identifican el primer signo precursor del Alzheimer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Los cient\u00edficos del Instituto Neurol\u00f3gico de Montreal han utilizado el Big Data para identificar a la disminuci\u00f3n en el suministro de sangre en el cerebro como el posible primer signo de la aparici\u00f3n de la\u00a0enfermedad de Alzheimer.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>El\u00a0Big Data, metadatos o datos masivos\u00a0es un concepto que hace referencia al almacenamiento de grandes cantidades de datos y a los procedimientos usados para encontrar patrones repetitivos dentro de esos datos.<\/p>\n<p>Actualmente la enfermedad de Alzheimer es la forma m\u00e1s com\u00fan de demencia entre las personas mayores de 65 a\u00f1os. Se consideraba que su inicio estaba relacionada con la deposici\u00f3n de altas concentraciones de\u00a0prote\u00edna beta amiloide\u00a0en el cerebro, la cual ataca las sinapsis de las neuronas, causando su muerte y destruyendo la memoria.<\/p>\n<p>Tan solo en los Estados Unidos, la enfermedad de Alzheimer afecta a unos 5 millones de personas mayores de 65 a\u00f1os (1 de cada 9). Sin embargo, la\u00a0Asociaci\u00f3n de Alzheimer\u00a0predice que para el a\u00f1o 2050, este n\u00famero ascender\u00e1 a un alarmante 13.8 millones de personas mayores de 65 a\u00f1os (1 de 4).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/i.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2881 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/i.jpeg\" alt=\"i\" width=\"664\" height=\"285\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>En el estudio los investigadores utilizaron 7 mil 700 im\u00e1genes cerebrales de mil 171 personas en diversas etapas de progresi\u00f3n de la enfermedad, donde usaron una variedad de t\u00e9cnicas que incluyeron im\u00e1genes por resonancia magn\u00e9tica,\u00a0tomograf\u00eda por emisi\u00f3n de positrones, an\u00e1lisis de sangre y de l\u00edquido cefalorraqu\u00eddeo, as\u00ed como el nivel de la cognici\u00f3n de los sujetos.<\/p>\n<p>En los resultados las concentraci\u00f3n de amiloides, el metabolismo de la glucosa, el flujo sangu\u00edneo cerebral, la actividad funcional y la atrofia cerebral en 78 regiones del cerebro, son todos factores que fueron considerados en la investigaci\u00f3n, donde a pesar de que el papel de las\u00a0prote\u00ednas amiloides\u00a0sigue siendo cr\u00edticas, la evoluci\u00f3n en la irrigaci\u00f3n sangu\u00ednea es muy importante a considerar, ya que es un signo que aparece antes, encontraron los investigadores.<\/p>\n<p>La trayectoria de cada factor biol\u00f3gico se registr\u00f3 utilizando los datos de cada paciente durante un periodo de 30 a\u00f1os. Ese proceso se reprodujo luego 500 veces para mejorar la robustez de las estimaciones y la estabilidad de los resultados.<\/p>\n<p>Ahora los investigadores esperan profundizar su estudio mediante la realizaci\u00f3n de una modelizaci\u00f3n de las causas m\u00e1s completa, en la que se analiza cada mecanismo. Pero para hacer eso, har\u00e1 falta todav\u00eda m\u00e1s estudioss\u00edntesis guiados por los datos, dijo Yasser Iturria Medina, autor principal del
