{"id":2958,"date":"2016-08-03T12:10:00","date_gmt":"2016-08-03T18:10:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/?p=2958"},"modified":"2016-08-03T12:10:17","modified_gmt":"2016-08-03T18:10:17","slug":"ibmchips-medico","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/tech\/ibmchips-medico\/","title":{"rendered":"IBM desarrolla chips de diagn\u00f3stico m\u00e9dico"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Cient\u00edficos de\u00a0IBM\u00a0desarrollaron una nueva tecnolog\u00eda de \u201claboratorio en un chip\u201d, capaz de separar part\u00edculas biol\u00f3gicas a nanoescala<!--more--> que permiten a los m\u00e9dicos detectar enfermedades como el c\u00e1ncer, antes de que aparezcan los s\u00edntomas.<\/p>\n<p>Las tecnolog\u00edas\u00a0lab-on-a-chip\u00a0se han convertido en una herramienta de diagn\u00f3stico muy \u00fatil para los m\u00e9dicos, ya que pueden ser mucho m\u00e1s veloces, portables y f\u00e1ciles de usar, y requieren menos volumen de muestra para ayudar a detectar enfermedades.<\/p>\n<p>El objetivo es reducir a un \u00fanico chip de silicio todos los procesos necesarios para analizar una enfermedad, algo que normalmente se llevar\u00eda a cabo en un laboratorio de\u00a0bioqu\u00edmica completo.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2959 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/filter.jpeg\" alt=\"filter\" width=\"624\" height=\"352\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Utilizando una tecnolog\u00eda denominada\u00a0desplazamiento lateral determinista a nanoescala (DLD), el m\u00e9todo es capaz de separar los virus y otras amenazas para la salud a partir de ADN en muestras de fluidos que\u00a0se filtran a trav\u00e9s de una serie de peque\u00f1os pilares que separan los elementos por tama\u00f1o hasta una resoluci\u00f3n de decenas de\u00a0nan\u00f3metros.<\/p>\n<p>IBM ya ha reducido el tama\u00f1o del chip a 2 cent\u00edmetros por 2 cent\u00edmetros, al tiempo que contin\u00faa el desarrollo para aumentar la densidad del dispositivo a fin de mejorar la funcionalidad y la productividad.<\/p>\n<p>En los resultados del equipo de IBM demostr\u00f3 que es posible separar\u00a0biopart\u00edculas sobre la base de su tama\u00f1o de hasta 20 nan\u00f3metros de di\u00e1metro, una escala que da acceso a part\u00edculas importantes, como\u00a0ADN, virus y exosomas. Estas part\u00edculas pueden ser analizadas potencialmente para revelar signos de enfermedad, incluso antes de que los pacientes experimenten los s\u00edntomas f\u00edsicos, en una etapa en la cual el resultado del tratamiento puede ser m\u00e1s positivo.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Hasta ahora, la biopart\u00edcula m\u00e1s peque\u00f1a que se pod\u00eda separar por tama\u00f1o utilizando tecnolog\u00edas en un chip era aproximadamente 50 veces m\u00e1s grande o incluso mayor, por ejemplo, que la separaci\u00f3n de c\u00e9lulas tumorales circulantes, de otros componentes biol\u00f3gicos.<\/p>\n<p>En la era de la medicina de precisi\u00f3n, los\u00a0exosomas\u00a0son considerados cada vez m\u00e1s como biomarcadores \u00fatiles para el diagn\u00f3stico y pron\u00f3stico de tumores malignos. Los exosomas son liberados en fluidos corporales f\u00e1cilmente accesibles, como sangre, saliva u orina. Representan una herramienta biom\u00e9dica valiosa, pues pueden usarse en el contexto de biopsias l\u00edquidas menos invasivas, para revelar el origen y tipo de c\u00e1ncer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLa capacidad de clasificar y enriquecer\u00a0biomarcadores\u00a0a nanoescala en tecnolog\u00edas basadas sobre un chip abre la puerta a comprender enfermedades como el c\u00e1ncer y virus como la gripe o el zika\u201d, dijo Gustavo Stolovitzky, responsable de la investigaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>Sin dudad un significativo avance en el diagn\u00f3stico medico que podr\u00eda revolucionar la medicina como la
