{"id":3301,"date":"2016-09-21T10:26:01","date_gmt":"2016-09-21T16:26:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/?p=3301"},"modified":"2016-09-21T10:26:01","modified_gmt":"2016-09-21T16:26:01","slug":"robots-biomedicos-que-predicen-y-tratan-enfermedades","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/tech\/robots-biomedicos-que-predicen-y-tratan-enfermedades\/","title":{"rendered":"Robots biom\u00e9dicos que predicen y tratan enfermedades"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Cient\u00edficos de la Universidad de Oviedo y la empresa estadounidense Biomodels han desarrollado unos\u00a0robots biom\u00e9dicos\u00a0capaces de\u00a0predecir fenotipos<!--more-->, una cualidad que les permitir\u00e1 el\u00a0estudio y tratamiento de patolog\u00edas raras, neurodegenerativas e incluso c\u00e1ncer.<\/p>\n<p>Se denomina fenotipo a\u00a0la expresi\u00f3n de la informaci\u00f3n contenida en los genes en funci\u00f3n de un determinado ambiente. Los\u00a0rasgos fenot\u00edpicos\u00a0son tanto f\u00edsicos como conductuales,\u00a0es decir, cualquier caracter\u00edstica o rasgo observable de un organismo, como su morfolog\u00eda, desarrollo, propiedades bioqu\u00edmicas, fisiolog\u00eda y comportamiento.<\/p>\n<p>La diferencia entre genotipo y fenotipo es que el genotipo se puede distinguir observando elADN\u00a0y el fenotipo puede conocerse por medio de la observaci\u00f3n de la apariencia externa de un organismo.<\/p>\n<p>El robot biom\u00e9dico es un conjunto de herramientas de matem\u00e1tica aplicada, estad\u00edstica y ciencias de la computaci\u00f3n capaz de aprender din\u00e1micamente de datos complejos, conocidos con el t\u00e9rmino de big data, y de ayudar a los m\u00e9dicos a tomar decisiones y a planteartratamientos personalizados\u00a0en funci\u00f3n de las necesidades de cada paciente, la denominada medicina de precisi\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSe trata de simplificar la complejidad y de hacer el\u00a0big data\u00a0peque\u00f1o. Cuando uno comprende el problema hallando las variables que lo describen, todo se hace m\u00e1s sencillo. Parece magia, pero no lo es, es parsimonia\u201d,\u00a0dijo\u00a0Juan Luis Fern\u00e1ndez Mart\u00ednez, responsable de la investigaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>Este grupo de investigaci\u00f3n ha aplicado estos robots a tres enfermedades concretas: laleucemia linfoc\u00edtica cr\u00f3nica, la miositis por cuerpos de inclusi\u00f3n, y la esclerosis lateral amiotr\u00f3fica.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/Robots-biomedicos-contra-enfermedades-raras-y-tumores_image_380.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft  wp-image-3302\" src=\"http:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/Robots-biomedicos-contra-enfermedades-raras-y-tumores_image_380.jpg\" alt=\"Robots-biomedicos-contra-enfermedades-raras-y-tumores_image_380\" width=\"388\" height=\"288\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Robot biom\u00e9dico.<\/h3>\n<p>En el caso de la leucemia, los resultados han mostrado la importancia de la lipoprote\u00edna lipasa, una enzima que descompone los triglic\u00e9ridos en \u00e1cidos grasos libres y glicerol.<\/p>\n<p>Para la miositis, un trastorno degenerativo inflamatorio de los m\u00fasculos, los investigadores han descubierto la importancia de varios genes y la influencia de diferentes\u00a0virus y bacterias\u00a0en la g\u00e9nesis de esta enfermedad autoinmune, de forma que el sistema inmunitario confunde las prote\u00ednas propias con las generadas por el invasor.<\/p>\n<p>Finalmente, en el caso de la\u00a0esclerosis lateral amiotr\u00f3fica, los robots han sido capaces de determinar la importancia de las caspasas, que controlan el mecanismo de muerte celular programada.<\/p>\n<p>El trabajo ha permitido desarrollar herramientas capaces de escrutar el poder discriminatorio de los genes y de buscar las diferentes\u00a0redes gen\u00e9ticas\u00a0que est\u00e1n involucradas en su desarrollo.<\/p>\n<p>Esta metodolog\u00eda se puede utilizar con diferentes tipos de datos gen\u00e9ticos. El mismo equipo la ha aplicado recientemente al estudio de toxicidades en f\u00e1rmacos y, en un futuro pr\u00f3ximo, se publicar\u00e1n tambi\u00e9n los resultados obtenidos con\u00a0la enfermedad
