{"id":3688,"date":"2016-11-07T13:54:04","date_gmt":"2016-11-07T19:54:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/?p=3688"},"modified":"2016-11-07T14:06:40","modified_gmt":"2016-11-07T20:06:40","slug":"terapial-zika-durante-el-embarazo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/ciencia\/terapial-zika-durante-el-embarazo\/","title":{"rendered":"Prometedora terapia que evita los da\u00f1os del zika durante el embarazo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Un estudio en\u00a0Nature\u00a0muestra un tratamiento con anticuerpos que neutraliza el zika.<\/p>\n<p>Los resultados han sido obtenidos en animales de laboratorio.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Uno de los efectos m\u00e1s devastadores del\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/hipertextual.com\/tag\/zika\">zika<\/a>\u00a0es la aparici\u00f3n de defectos cong\u00e9nitos como las microcefalias o trastornos como el\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/hipertextual.com\/2016\/03\/zika-sindrome-de-guillain-barre\">s\u00edndrome de Guillain-Barr\u00e9<\/a>. El virus, una vez que ha infectado a una mujer embarazada, destruye las c\u00e9lulas del\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/hipertextual.com\/2016\/05\/zika-microcefalia\">tejido nervioso<\/a>\u00a0del feto provocando que el di\u00e1metro de su cabeza sea considerablemente menor al nacer y padezca problemas de salud importantes. Un trabajo de la Universidad de Washington ha identificado un anticuerpo (ZIKV-117) que previene, en ratones gestantes, que los fetos se infecten y la placenta se da\u00f1e. Sus resultados, publicados en\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/nature.com\/articles\/doi:10.1038\/nature20564\">Nature<\/a>, muestran que el tratamiento tambi\u00e9n protege a los ratones adultos de padecer la enfermedad.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Es la primera terapia antiviral que demuestra eficacia durante el embarazo para proteger a los fetos del virus del Zika&#8221;, explica Michael Diamond, uno de los autores del trabajo. Aunque su estudio se ha realizado en modelos animales, sus conclusiones\u00a0abren la puerta a tratar el zika durante el embarazo. &#8220;Ya tenemos un anticuerpo de origen humano que lo logra, al menos en ratones&#8221;, comenta. Su grupo analiz\u00f3 29 anticuerpos aislados de pacientes que se recuperaron de la infecci\u00f3n v\u00edrica. Al aplicar el tratamiento en los animales gestantes, vieron que la carga viral se reduc\u00eda considerablemente. Cuando examinaron la placenta de las ratonas que no hab\u00edan recibido la terapia, los cient\u00edficos determinaron da\u00f1os muy graves, que se han asociado con una ralentizaci\u00f3n del crecimiento fetal o incluso su fallecimiento. No suced\u00eda lo mismo en los animales tratados.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/ilustracion-zika-610x431.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3689 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/otech.uaeh.edu.mx\/noti\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/ilustracion-zika-610x431.jpg\" alt=\"ilustracion-zika-610x431\" width=\"600\" height=\"424\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Sus conclusiones ofrecen la primera evidencia de que los anticuerpos por s\u00ed solos pueden proteger a adultos y fetos del zika, al menos en\u00a0animales de experimentaci\u00f3n. Las vacunas para prevenir la infecci\u00f3n que se est\u00e1n investigando en la actualidad no han sido probadas en animales gestantes, aunque seg\u00fan los autores sean las herramientas m\u00e1s baratas para frenar el contagio. Sin embargo, la posibilidad de contar con un tratamiento extra que pueda evitar los da\u00f1os del zika durante el embarazo es una gran noticia, ya que podr\u00edamos prevenir los efectos negativos observados en reci\u00e9n nacidos.<\/p>\n<p>Las conclusiones positivas del art\u00edculo en\u00a0Nature, sin embargo, deben tomarse con cautela. Sus positivos resultados han sido obtenidos en ratones, por lo que los estudios a corto y medio plazo deben centrarse en\u00a0analizar la eficacia y seguridad de la terapia en otros modelos animales antes de ensayar el tratamiento en seres humanos. &#8220;El notable potencial y la amplia inhibici\u00f3n de ZIKV-117 genera m\u00faltiples expectativas&#8221;, afirma Diamond, &#8220;ya que fue capaz de frenar la infecci\u00f3n de cepas procedentes de \u00c1frica y Am\u00e9rica tanto en cultivos celulares como en modelos animales, incluidos los gestantes&#8221;.
