Para su rehabilitaci\u00f3n los cirujanos del hospital de la Universidad de Salamanca\u00a0desarrollaron una pr\u00f3tesis ligera, pero incre\u00edblemente resistente a trav\u00e9s de titanio modelado en una impresora 3D.<\/p>\n<p>Si bien el uso del titano no es una innovaci\u00f3n, s\u00ed lo es su uso para el reemplazo de una gran parte de la caja tor\u00e1cica, un zona complicada donde se alojan \u00f3rganos tan importantes como el coraz\u00f3n y los pulmones.<\/p>\n<p>En general, las pr\u00f3tesis de titanio se construyen a trav\u00e9s de varias placas que se van soltando con el tiempo, pero debido a la gravedad de la zona, los cirujanos optaron por una opci\u00f3n m\u00e1s segura gracias a la tecnolog\u00eda de la impresi\u00f3n 3D.<\/p>\n<p>A trav\u00e9s de este sistema, los m\u00e9dicos pudieron replicar las partes que se hab\u00edan retirado del paciente que posteriormente fueron desarrolladas por Anatomics, una compa\u00f1\u00eda de Melbourne, Australina.<\/p>\n<p>Seg\u00fan indica\u00a0Gizmodo, la impresora utilizada &#8220;Arcam 3D&#8221; tiene un valor de 1,3 millones de d\u00f3lares y es la primera en su tipo.<\/p>\n<p>A 12 d\u00edas de la operaci\u00f3n, el paciente ya fue dado de alta y lleva una recuperaci\u00f3n satisfactoria.
