Cada vez que conectamos una memoria USB o pendrive ajeno a nuestro ordenador todos sentimos ese temor de que podr\u00edamos ser v\u00edctima de un virus o malware. Sin embargo, con este adaptador puedes solucionar el problema al protegerte de cualquier pendrive\u00a0infectado, y puedes fabricarlo tu mismo.<\/p>\n

El adaptador tiene el nombre de USG v1.0 y fue creado por un experto en seguridad llamado Robert Fisk. La idea del dispositivo es crear una barrera protectora entre un pendrive<\/em> y tu ordenador, como una especie de cond\u00f3n inform\u00e1tico para evitar que seas contagiado de virus o malware<\/em>.<\/p>\n

En el pasado se han descubierto casos de pendrives<\/em> baratos que cuentan con software malicioso instalado. De hecho, han existido casos de espionaje gubernamental que se basaron en usar memorias USB infectadas en ordenadores con informaci\u00f3n confidencial para filtrar sus datos.<\/p>\n

Aunque la mayor\u00eda de nosotros no trabaja con informaci\u00f3n confidencial de inteligencia, eso no quiere decir que no debamos protegernos ante ataques maliciosos. Fisk asegura que el firewall<\/em> que incluyen los sistemas operativos no son suficiente para proteger al usuario de un ataque mediante USB, ni siquiera los antivirus pueden detectarlos debido a la forma en la que se ejecutan.<\/p>\n

El USG se basa en dos microprocesadores STM32F4 que se comunican a trav\u00e9s de un enlace que forma una barrera de firewall<\/em>. Esta barrera bloquea el c\u00f3digo malicioso mediante USB y le impide llegar a tu ordenador.<\/p>\n

Es posible protegerte de un sistema malicioso de BadUSB usando sistemas operativos virtuales como Qubes, pero la ventaja de USG es que no necesita que cambies tu sistema operativo. Sencillamente lo conectas y ya puedes utilizarlo.<\/p>\n

El dispositivo est\u00e1 a la venta por un precio de 60 d\u00f3lares. Sin embargo, su c\u00f3digo es abierto, lo que quiere decir que cualquiera puede fabricar el suyo propio, siempre y cuando tenga el conocimiento t\u00e9cnico necesario.<\/p>\n
