Esta nueva investigaci\u00f3n, publicada en &#8216;PLOS Computational Biology&#8217;, podr\u00eda tener importantes implicaciones para el futuro tratamiento de una enfermedad cardiaca mortal.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La fibrilaci\u00f3n auricular &#8211;una de las formas m\u00e1s comunes de ritmo cardiaco anormal&#8211; es provocada por estas ondas, y es una de las principales causas de accidente cerebrovascular, ya que eleva el riesgo de formaci\u00f3n de co\u00e1gulos sangu\u00edneos dentro del coraz\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Se produce en alrededor de entre el 1 y el 2 por ciento de las personas, y los estudios han demostrado que est\u00e1 en aumento en el mundo desarrollado debido al envejecimiento de la poblaci\u00f3n. Las potenciales implicaciones sociales y econ\u00f3micas de este incremento ponen de relieve la necesidad urgente de opciones de tratamiento nuevas y m\u00e1s eficaces para la enfermedad, seg\u00fan los investigadores.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Identificar el origen de la fibrilaci\u00f3n auricular es vital para su diagn\u00f3stico y tratamiento. Los m\u00e9todos actuales implican el uso de un cat\u00e9ter para aislar estas ondas, pero se trata de una cirug\u00eda muy invasiva, y es extremadamente dif\u00edcil identificar el origen de las ondas para tratar el trastorno.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Los investigadores de este estudio, de la Universidad de Manchester y de la Universidad de Hull, en Reino Unido, utilizaron un coraz\u00f3n humano virtual y un electrocardiograma de 64 derivaciones (ECG) para estudiar la correlaci\u00f3n entre el origen de las ondas y las caracter\u00edsticas de las se\u00f1ales de ECG.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Utilizando las propiedades de la activaci\u00f3n auricular y las se\u00f1ales, fueron capaces de desarrollar un m\u00e9todo que puede arrinconar la ubicaci\u00f3n de la fibrilaci\u00f3n auricular de manera no invasiva, as\u00ed como identificar diferentes tipos de la enfermedad. &#8220;Esta t\u00e9cnica puede identificar el origen de la fibrilaci\u00f3n auricular de manera extremadamente eficaz, proporcionando una herramienta poderosa para el tratamiento en el futuro&#8221;, afirma el profesor Henggui Zhang, director del estudio.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fuente:<\/strong>\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.invdes.com.mx\/salud\/6198-disenan-un-metodo-para-identificar-el-origen-de-una-enfermedad-cardiaca-mortal.html\" target=\"_blank\">iD<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Un equipo de investigadores ha inventado un nuevo m\u00e9todo para identificar el origen de ondas el\u00e9ctricas irregulares en el coraz\u00f3n.
